A long time ago I asked whether you would pick Thanksgiving or 4th of July and most of you picked Thanksgiving. Well we decided to put off thanksgiving for a couple of years and focused on 4th of July. Then we decided to do a bunch of birthday trips for each of us. We have now been planning next June 13th - 19th for my bday, my daughter's 12th bday and fathers day. BUT...last night I watched a video of the 4th of July fireworks from the Poly beach and once again it made me want to go for the 4th. So what would you do?

Go in June for Birthdays or on the 4th of July for awesome fireworks?

the only reason we don't go down for the 4th is kids camps....otherwise i would prefer the 4th, and Christmastime as my two favorite times

I've been on the 4th and the fireworks were great, and the MK has a preview of them on the 3rd. On the 3rd we did the Wishes Dessert party so we had delicious desserts and a great place to watch the spectacular fireworks. This was just last year and I thought I would always want to go back, but we're dog sitting 2 dogs (DDiL/DS, no children but 2 great dogs!) this year, so I had to miss the fireworks. We stayed at the BCV, so seeing the fireworks on the 4th at Epcot was easy, we enjoyed the musical presentations with the Voices of Liberty with Mickey Donald and Goofy. I really wanted to go back this year...next year we're hopeful to get HHI for the week of the 4th, but if we don't we're going back to WDW!

If seeing the fireworks is important to you, go for it! Last year the crowds weather weren't bad, but our whole family enjoys swimming and taking it easy at the pool and resort.

I hope to do next ('12) Thanksgiving at VB. I'm saving the points for a BC and hope that works out.

Do you not have any close friends and nearby relatives that might feel cheated if you spend three friend and family events away on vacation? I can understand doing one here and there but three... wow.

I'd pick June, I've always found it to be less crowded, northern schools are just ending and believe or not, it's a tad cooler, less humid than July! and as a bonus, celebrating 3 birthdays at Disney sounds great! 4th of July fireworks aren't enough to convince me to go in July but in the end it's up to what's important to you!

I go just to go, so if July was the only time I could go then that's when I would go, which is why I go in June anad August rather than when it's cooler! I love the week before Thanksgiving and wish I could go every year but alas that's not the case!

There are 6 of us already, plus we are bringing my parents, and my daughters' best friend. That's 9 of us...sounds like a party to me!

I think I will call MS on wednesday and see if the accommodations I want are available. If so I'll book our birthdays. Then I guess I'll call back in August for the 4th and if once again the rooms I want are available I'll cancel June. Otherwise June it is because we REALLY want a treehouse! My daughter said she'd love to go for the 4th if we can still celebrate her birthday and I said that's the plan! The dates are so close together already I think putting the bdays off for some awesome fireworks sounds great. So I guess the treehouse will determine the dates! I want those three bedrooms! :cool1:

Thanks! It was one of the main reasons we added on at SSR!!! We haven't stayed in one yet. I already have it mapped out in my head! Hubby and Me in master, parents in other queen bedroom, Leah and Darren in bunks, Lauren Ashley and their friend Alyssa in the living room! The wait to call MS is killing me! Now if only I had enough points to walk the reservation :rotfl: j/k
