BikeFan said:I know what you mean about the $$ - normally, I'm frugal, and would not pay the extra $100/day for CR, but given the age of our kids, I can't discount the convenience factor. When we were down at WDW in Sept. 2003 with just the oldest three, we took mid-day breaks everyday but 1 (when AK closed at 5 PM), and we'll probably do that again this time. That being the case, the CR is very tempting, even if part of me doesn't want to spend the $$.
How far is the POR pool from Alligator Bayou (that's the only section with trundle bed rooms, correct?)? From the maps, POR looks more spread-out (never actually stayed there), and it looks like a bit of a trek between where our room would be and the main pool. Thanks.
Alligator Bayou is very large. The good news is that several of the AB buildings are VERY close to old man island where the pool, playground, spa and bar are. The CM's at POR are very accomodating and will most likely get you a room close to the main building. Apart from the closer Alligator Bayou rooms, there are several Mansion buildings that are a short (and beautiful) walk to the main building.
We were in Building 27 in AB. This is about 1/3 the way into AB from the main building. Our kids were small (almost 3 and almost 5) and we had no problem walking to the main building for meals, pool and for the main bus stop. Looking at the beautiful grounds and a surprising large number of small animals made the 3 minute walk seem like a blink.
