Hi all! We have stayed at CBR (loved it) and CBR (liked it). In 2001, I didn't know about codes and I paid rack rate OUCH OUCH OUCH at CBR ~ HIGH SEASON! OUCH! In Canadian dollar (just shoot me). It came to $300 CDN a night at CBR! But it was an awesome stay!

In 2002, I got a $94 USF rate (with a code) for CSR and didn't love it.

I am saving my pennies for a 2004 trip. Since I think I can save a little more than the last two trips and we are skipping WDW this year, I am thinking about a deluxe resort. Thing is, I am interested in staying at POR or POFQ too just to finish off the moderates.

To my amazement, shock, surprise and joy, my family has become an Epcot family. Originally I thought, if we stayed at a deluxe it would be a monorail resort, but now I am thinking Beach Club. But HOLY WALLETS BATMAN is that place $$$$$. I am saving a little extra cash, but I can't see paying that much for a hotel room. But the idea of walking to Epcot in the morning is lovely!

To throw a monkey wrench into this whole thing, I bet my family would be very comfy at an All Star. I also like HIFS for the room. We recently stayed in Niagara Falls in a two room suite with a fireplace and we are spoiled.

dd would love to return to CBR, but been-there-done-that.

I can't believe after a few trips to WDW and report hopping I am still at a lose on where to stay next trip!

PLEASE HELP!

I am 99% sure we will stay at two WDW next trip. Likely 4 days at one and 4 days at the second. I have looked at these combos.

All Star/Poly

POR/BC

CBR/POR

ALK/WL

BC/HIFS

HELP HELP HELP! S

Why don't you try to rent points from a dvc owner. You get the rooms at a much lower cost . That way you can maybe afford the deluxe resorts.

I know what you mean about being spoiled afte staying at a resort. We stayed at GF last year and well let's just say completely, utterly spoiled. Now if it was me, based on your selection I like the AKL/WL choice. Something about the safari/wilderness theme I like. Good luck!

Rent, heck. You sound like a candidate for joining DVC. ;)

To clarify though, renting points to stay at a non-DVC resort is generally not a good deal. It used to be prior to 2002, but no longer.

My only comment to your quandry is that AKL/WL may not be a good combo. Nothing wrong with the resorts themselves, but they are very similar in many ways, from pricing to room size to design; in fact they were designed by the same architect. It would be a little like splitting a stay between Yacht Club and Beach Club. But if you plan to enjoy the distinctive features, it could work out fine.

After reading through your post...I'd say the POR/BC route sounds like the winner to me. -HM

I second the suggestion of renting points and staying at a DVC property (Beach Club Villas, for example, cuz of the awsome pool).

IMO, if you're not going to be visiting the parks, there is not a ton to do at HIFS. Don't get me wrong -- it's a GREAT hotel (we were there a few years ago), BUT I can't see how you could spend an entire day there, let alone 4, unless you plan on being in the pool the entire time. I've seen threads about Vistana Villages (I think) that sound more like a resort-type place that you could spend more time at. HIFS is definitely a hotel...not a resort.

I'm renting points from a DVC member to stay at the BCV for 5 nights. AT 10.00/point, my stay is costing me 740.00, rather than 1600+ it would be to book through Disney. Then, we're going to CBR for 2 nights (waiting for discount codes to come out to book that one). I plan on spending a few days at the BCV resort, rather than at the parks. From what I've read/heard, it is very possible to spend a few days there and not be bored.

I would go with POR/Poly.:D Just my personnal preferance:D
I know that wasn't one of your choices.....but Poly is just about the same $$ as BC....and you would love being so close to MK too.

You could still be close to Epcot....just a quick monorail ride. From Poly you walk to TTC and catch the Epcot monorail!!! It's awesome!!!

I second the renting points idea. You can stay at the Beach Club Villas at a great discount by renting points!

Well, if you have your heart set on AKL, I would do AKL and AS (or rather the other way around AS and then AKL) AKL is beautiful but expensive (IMO) and you could offset the cost by staying at AS for half your trip.

this will allow you to finish your list of moderates and give you the access you want at Epcot. We stayed outside of the international Gateway (Dolphin) and thought it to be the best location of all the areas. Very convenient to MGM, Epcot, Boardwalk and the world famous Yacht & Beachclub pool.
