Another when to go ???

When does the "busy" time around Thanksgiving begin? Is it the week of Thanksgiving, or does it get bad just around Thanksgiving day itself and into the weekend afterwards?

We are having such a hard time deciding when to go b/c DH doesn't want to take the kids out of school. (Me-I think they will learn more in a week at Disney than any given week in school, but it isn't worth a fight--I am just going to wait and let him see how crowded it is either in the summer or over a holiday compared to October and then maybe he will reconsider! LOL!)

Anyway, we were looking at Thankgiving week and the kids would only miss 2 1/2 days of school. Would it be better to try for sometime between June 10-28? I know it will be busy both times, but any advice about busy Thanksgiving times compared to the summer will be appreciated. I guess one of the main differences would be the weather. Maybe the cooler weather would make the Thanksgiving crowds a little easier to handle?

Shamelessly bumping this up since I did it late last night.

Any advice on the crowds in mid-late June vs. the weekend before and week of Thanksgiving? I did look in the UG and it showed up until Thanksgiving day, the crowd level was a "3". In June it is showing the crowd level as an "8". Should that answer my question?

I don't know about June- but I've been Thanksgiving week 3 times. Each time was more and more crowded. We last went Thanksgiving week 2003 and it was VERY crowded. However, if you go expecting and planning for crowds, it is doable. I am a teacher and I took dd out of kindergarten this year and missed a week myself in early Dec. The difference is amazing! We will do this again when we go 2 years- we'll do this until the kids are older and it gets too hard to miss a week. Anyway, Thanksgiving week is doable- you just must use early entry, fast passes, park hop, strategies on important rides, etc. I would avoid MK on Thanksgiving day- it is a madhouse. I've also heard the day after Thanksgiving is really bad at MK- we've never done it though. Do MK early in the week- it gets busier with each day.
Anyone with any info on June?
