Yeah, I though about that and may stop making videos at about $500. DH is self employed, so we really have to watch our tax stuff.

I am doing Turbo Tax and I put it under "income" I didn't see anywhere to put it under income from a hobby, where is that?? Overall it reduced our refund by 300, we made around 2500+ with Expo so I didn't think that was bad at all.

I have 3 reviews that I sent emails about - challenging the category they chose to put it in. THey would not change the DVD one.

They paid me $2 for a Baby Crib and Baby Furniture is supposed to be $5. I also questioned a tool review I did and a Food Steamer. They put the food steamer under Cookware and Baking and I argued it should be under small appliances since that is the section you find it when you are at the store. Let's see what they say.

I'm using TaxAct and I couldn't find hobby either. I listed mine as income too; however, it reduced our refund by $1200 and we made about $3900 on expo. That is almost 33%! We are not in a high bracket either

I just noticed on the Expo site that they are giving bonuses away again for the month of February. Did anyone notice if they were giving them away for January also?

I didn't notice it for January. I think they were only doing the wish list thing??

I did notice though that the bonus money in December was $10K and this month it's only $5K.

Either way, I'm happy about it - a bonus is a bonus is a bonus.

Anyone else think, "Why didn't I save that video for February?" There were a few I put extra effort into and would love to have got the bonus bucks for. I guess I better start thinking of what I can review for this month.

haha...YES! And I am scared to do too many $2 items b/c didn't they do a promotion last June where EVERYTHING was $5???

I don't want to submit stuff today for $2, to have it rise in value in a few months.

I have no problem doing a $2 one now that could earn a bonus versus waiting for a possible $5 increase. The December bonuses were $11 per video and I got 7 picked without really making an extra effort. I think this is a good way for Expo to up the quality.

Good Point! I had a few picked for the bonus too, so that brings the potential price per video up quite a bit.

FYI - I've uploaded 10 videos today and they paid me $5 for all of them. I even had 2 that were not in the database and I had to supply the link. I had already done these about a month ago and didn't want to submit because they were $2 ones, so there is no extra effort on those.

I too will have to find stuff around the house and try to do some really good ones. The ones that I got bonus money for - I didn't think they were all that great. I didn't go out of my way or anything.

Yes! I mean I try to do good in all my videos but last month I did a pan and showed me using it, did that with quite a few, for $2 stinkin $, also when only 1 out of every 10 was getting approved. I finally just quit, kept saying not in database or not valid link when I pulled from their database!

It didn't look like it when I glanced earlier. It looked the same except the 50 cap and the bonuses. I just am suprised they paid $5 for something not in the DB. Lately it has been $2 if it has not been in it.

The payout page does not show that you are getting $5 for everything or things not in the database. All I know is, that is what they paid me. I don't know if it was a mistake, but when someone else posted they had a month last summer where everything got paid $5, I wondered if it is this month, but they just did not update the payout. I'm confused.

Yes when I started last July it was $5 for everything. Then they moved to the scale of $10/$5/$2. Somewhere along they way they added a note that if you had an item not in their database it would just be $2. So even if it was a fridge (normally $10), if it wasn't in their database and you had to provide a link to it, you would only get $2.

So I was happy to see you getting $5 for items not in the database. I just checked the upload screen and the note is still there:

Please select the product that exactly matches what you are reviewing. If you can't find a match, please double check the spelling of the product name and try again. If you do not match a product you will only be paid $2.

so I am not sure what to think but I am glad you got $5 for your non database items. Maybe they are doing away with this and just have not removed that phrase yet from the upload page.

since my id is not the same as my disboards id not sure If I can post it

now I have to admit I have never done anything like this so this should be interesting need names so I can see how everyone one else is doing their vidoes.....simple is going to be the game until I feel better about doing it or more on how/what to say about what I am reviewing, I do not like talking in public and this is about the same but I will get over it

oh did I mention I have not really used my video camera so I have a learning curve too

now the question is do they want bad reviews too.....

all help is greatly needed

now to get going on funding my trips and pay down my debt....or should it be the other way around
