Another way to make a little extra cash for our Disney funds

If you think they have put things in the wrong category, e-mail them. It's worth a shot. They had put two of my scrapbooking items under home and gardens and I e-mailed them. They promptly sent me an e-mail apologizing and fixed both of them, thus getting the $8 bonus on both! :cheer2:

I'm glad you posted this. They moved 2 of my leap pad book reviews from toys to books. I had selected their pictures and at the time they had them in the toys category. They've since moved them to books but I checked the other leap pad books and they are still listed as toys. They were worth $10 when I uploaded them and these are NOT books! They are accessories to a TOY. They are sold in toy sections, not book sections. And they don't sell them in book stores, but in toy stores! I politely emailed them and am waiting on a response. Probably won't see one till Monday though.

If I want to see some of you guys' videos and I know your expo name, how do I find you? I can't seem to find where you can search for a particular person to see their video!

Hi, thanks for the helpful advice. Unfortunately, those of us using Kodak Easy Share are finding out just how UNeasy Sharing with Kodak really is. ;) Kodak Easy Share is not compatible with Windows Movie Maker. I have tried one of the workarounds, but it didn't work for me. When I save my movies in UnEasy Share ;), I go to "save as" and it is saved as a "Video Files(*.mov)".... I heard there are converter programs. I am wondering if there are any converter programs that would enable us Easy Share users to move our videos into Window's Movie Maker. I have experience with photos, but this whole 'movies on your computer' is new to me. I would like to know what type of file my .mov files need to be in, in order to be placed into Window's Movie Maker. We have successfully unploaded 80 reviews directly to Expo through Easy Share, but had 29 rejections that were those uploaded on the last few qualifying days of the $5 reviews.

Of course now that DD has been paid, it takes the sting out of it a bit. ;)

Another question.. so something like a new fridge is under a $2 category?

Take care all of you expo-ites that might be in the path of the hurricane. :grouphug:

You can try windows media encoder, the link for it is about 8-10 pages back. We have something called RAD video tools that I use to convert from (un)easy share .mov files to .avi files that movie maker accepts. I have to save to computer but it is an expo accepted file so I haven't had any problems uploading.

There is a DIS thread (ExpoTV users stop in here) that lists every one. When you find some one, add them as your friend so you are always linked to their account and can see their videos. You can also subcribe to them as well. A lot of us have done that and you can go into the friends section of your friends to see who they are linked with and add more people that way. Clear as mud?

luvthatmouse and mellie2162 I send requests to add you two to friends. you both listed your names in your posts on this board and I've been looking at some of your videos (learning from the pros before I try):teacher: Looks like a great way to earn some extra cash:cool1:

Arghhh!!! I am trying to finish up my 100 for this month (hoping for all $10) and my computer is running so SSSSLLLLOOOOWWW! And I haven't even began to upload them to Expo yet-its all in my Windows movie maker. (Just had to vent a little!)

Thank you so much for the information. I really appreciate it! :goodvibes I will try one of those programs.

It's funny, every time we come home from shopping, I think 'hey, we can review the items we bought.' Yesterday we bought an item that I was not happy with. I told my family, "This is flimsy and it's going back." And then the lightbulb went on, "But not before we review it." :lmao:

Ok, venting. This was not as simple as I had first thought...but then what is?:confused3 The first video I did my 8 year old son kept moving the camera so half of the video had my head cut off (an improvement really:lmao: ) But I tried to upload it anyway...well wouldn't you know, our wonderful internet provider chose that time to go out on us!:sad2: . I took this as an omen to redo the shoot. I enlisted my not to willing hubby  and the second shot turned out better. Hopefully it will work.

Yaaa. Uploaded my first video. I think I have the hang of it now! Keep your fingers crossed they approve it:thumbsup2

jessicagnon I've watched just about all your videos now I think! You get points for that right? I'm working on dabute's now...she has a few more :goodvibes

I don't know HOW ya'll did 100 of the $10 category vids. I'm itching to get 50 and right now, looks like I'm petering out at 41 :( :( ;( I DID tell myself, though, that I'm stopping downloading on the 20th- that way hopefully I will know what gets approved and if any get rejected- I may have the chance to redo them before the end of the month.

Huh- wonder if I should run to the $1 store and see if there are any new pet products my crew needs? LOL!

Today was a HUGE day for us Expo wise. My husband has been sitting at 20.00 forever and getting more depressed by the day as mine continued to grow. This morning he was at 20 but he checked early this evening and they published a TON of his videos and now his Expo balance is over 400 dollars!!! I'm up to 220 and we are almost done with our 100 each. YEAH!!!!! We are tsawhook and timandlesley on Expo, Disney's WL here we come thanks to Expo!!!!

I would invest in a cheap tripod. They make so much difference!!!

WTG, Lesley, sounds like you guys are rolling in the EXPO dough. I've got $2 so far...lol. While your at WL, looks like I'll be getting something from the dollar store...lol. Seriously I've got quite a few pending so hopefully they will be approved soon, all $10 items/places.

Yeah! They finally posted my Magic Kingdom video. It was a lot of fun to make. They posted a few more of mine today-still working on uploading to almost 100 tonight-probably won't quite make it.I will have to do a few more videos this week. :headache:
I have been doing a lot of pet videos today-ferret stuff. I reviewed my ferrets last month so now I am doing the stuff to get for them! I even had one of my ferrets model his clothes!:rotfl:

Did you know we could review vegtables, not frozen or canned just fresh ones..lol. Check this one out... Onion, I think I'll go pull out all my veggies from the Crisper now...=o)

I'm finding that I am enjoying this more and more! I especially like making the travel destination reviews! I have two pending that I have added music to. I also did one on Big Pine Key that was fun to make. Windows Movie Maker is fun to play around with, but yes, please make sure you save them as a movie file and not project files-when I first started this, I had a couple of mine rejected because I saved them under project file and Expo wouldn't support that file type. I don't want any body's rejected!

Can we use music in a review that is not for the music? This is in the FAQ's:

Can I use any music in my video? Can I show footage from a TV show or movie?
ExpoTV will not reject video reviews containing copyrighted materials where the use of such materials constitutes fair use under the U.S. Copyright Laws, such as for commentary and criticism of that specific product. For more information about fair use, click here.

DH and I may not each make it to 100, but things to review just keep popping in my head. For example, we thought about the camcorder and camera, easy right? Then it hit me, what about the storage devices? We have 4 different compact flash devices for the camera (they count under computers or electronics, I saw both) and 3 different CDs for the camcorder (they count under electronics). So 2 $10 items turned into 9 $10 items!

Also, act like your uploading an item. Select item not found then just go throught the subcatergories under the $10 items. I haven't had a chance to really scope them out yet, but a few minutes ago when I was adding something under computers, I saw lots of ideas, ie software, the mouse, keyboard, monitor, speakers. I was planning on doing the whole computer set up as one! Now, I can probably get 5 or 6 out of it.

My poor hubby stayed up late last night to record his videos. He had to leave at 5:00 a.m. this morning for work and doesn't get off until 1:00pm tomorrow. I sure hope he can get some sleep tonight as I have all kinds of ideas for him now! I'm not too good at the electronic stuff and he really gets into reviewing those. I had him reviewing toddler food a few nights ago and you can tell he really hated it.

I was trying to upload my dog's hairbrush. They were trying to put it under office products. Yeah right!
