Another waiting for Southwest thread!

We are going to DIsney Sept 14-20th. Not knowing what fares would be out and the best priced (sometimes mid week is cheaper, but weekends are more convenient, etc) I called Disney and booked from Sept. 13-23. Then when the air was released I called Disney back and made the changes to what I got for air. That way you can be sure to get your hotel. Also, final payment isn't due until 45 days before departure so you can always cancel/change without a surcharge.

We are waiting for mid-November. When does Southwest typically post their schedules for November?

I need to book THREE Rapid Rewards tickets. One expires two days after we return. (As you can tell, I travel A LOT on SWA!!). I think JetBlue has already released theirs, and I got a Travelzoo report today about a big USAirways sale (although not in this time frame) so hopefully it'll be this week.

Then the wait for a DING! fare begins... :rolleyes2

This wait is a killer. Trying to wait patiently for 9/30-10/15 have to book for 5. I know as soon as I turn my back (or go to work) the fares will be released and I won't be near a computer. Ahhhhh. I spoke to someone who works at sw and she said it should be real soon. I would love to just beable to book everything and not have to worry about anything but my adrs,

I'm waiting for Sept 21 - 25 and am afraid that the dates won't go that far in this next release....

Well guys, I caved. :sad2: I went ahead and booked using FF miles on United. I was hoping to hold out, but there was only 1 seat left for miles on our return flight so I took it. DH is happy as he was not looking forward to arriving SO early for SW...even tho I could've taken an earlier cab and he could have just gone straight from work :rolleyes2
I still had to but 3 ticket..but they total 609 , so for 4 of us it's 614. I don't think SW would've beaten it by much for 4, but the no penalty thing is what I was after. Since we are doing the DDP package and face a fee under 45 anyway, DH said just put our necks out for airfare too. I will still be watching SW tho, as I still need tix to see my folks( that was another reason I was holding onto the FF miles) Anyway, now that I have booked on UAL...I can pretty much guarantee dates will open tomorrow for y'all!
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

I think they will go at least to September 30, I'm guessing to October 5, don't know why, I just pulled that out of my hat. :thumbsup2

He is a pilot, so I thought he could get more information out of them than I could and the lady he spoke with said that they are expecting future dates to open this week. Be watching!!! :surfweb:

thanks to your dad for doing his share to ease the pain of all us fall travelers.

Now with that bid of info, I def. can't go to work, sleep or eat since I know when I leave this beast the fares will open up. :surfweb:

I really hope they do. I can't take this waiting any longer. I just want all my plans to be over with so I don't have to continue to sit by a computer waiting, and waiting for something to never happen. (ok, I really don't sit by here all day, I do get up to get somthing to drink once in a while) I work 5-11 so I get to sit here nice and early in the am to watch too. :bitelip:

That is a great idea....I better do that because I was wondering the same thing when it came to midweek fares.

Pam,

Where did you decide to stay? Did you work out the first day with no tickets problem?

What a team player! Thanks!

emmabelle,

switched to CSR.....knocked $981 off the CR resort package total. I am confused tho because when I punch our plans in at the WDW site, I get a $2410 total and when called CRO to switch, the CM quoted me $2267 ...same deal :confused3 not complaining but can't figure out why the 2 quotes are not the same. I checked our ressies on line and the lower quote is there..so I guess that is what we owe...as far as the first day set up goes, we are booked on a seperate AA vacation ressie using up flier miles about to expire. We have 4 plusses left over from old hoppers so the plan is to relax on arrival day...enjoy CSR/DTD....then hit a water park on second day. It can't hurt to ask about the ticket activation, but not banking on it. Since we are booked on 2 seperate ressies, I may have to go to the front desk anyway on day 3 to re-check in...and get DDP activated on our KTTW, so no biggie. I posted in another thread tho, I will be at the desk at 6am however to do that...after 2 days waiting to get to the parks, we will be chomping at the bit , and HUNGRY! :rotfl2:

That sounds good, I think you'll be happier if you don't have to change hotels, you'd lose time having to check out of one hotel and into a new one (JMHO), if you had done the Pop and CR option. Maybe when you were looking at the stay on line they were including in the insurance, if you go through all the screens on line, the website eventually adds in the insurance and you have to uncheck it. :) Have fun!

Thanks for the info! It's 11:02 EST and it doesn't look like the schedule change is happening today. I hope it does happen this week.

I talked to sombody on the phone from SW and they said by the 15th!!!
Its after 11am now so I am leaning towards Thursday. I wish it was today Its so hard for me to be ar my comp on Thursday mornings !!

I need to have my head examined!!!!!!!!!! While waiting to see if SW opened up today ( :surfweb: ) I of course started thinking about cutting our trip to 7 nights..all CR. It is $100 more than our current 10 night saty at CSR. The downside is we would lose 3 full park days, but the upside is we would be at CR again. Or back to the Dolphin. DH is just stressing me out over how much we will miss the easy access from the Dolphin to EPCOT/MGM...mainly the returning back at night part...and CR well, kids would go nuts...however, they have stressed that they would go nuts over 10 nights as well...I need to get my mind off of this! I am afaid we will be spending a LOT of park time im the TS places...having never eaten at so many in one trip before.
I need help, seriously!

Pam

Does anyone know historically what prices have been for the week of Thanksgiving? Right now on other airlines the cheapest I have found was $89 one way. Does anyone think SW will beat that price? This is from Worcester to Sanford.

Thanks for any help
