Hi there Universal experts...I've been lurking over here on & off for several months...planning our first visit to Universal IN JUST 3 WEEKS!!
I am a bit apprehensive about the "no bags on rides" thing at Universal. I pretty much ditched fanny packs a long time ago & switched to small lightweight string backpacks for our Disney park days but I still have a couple packs in the closet. I know I've read that "they" won't allow the larger ones so I'm not planning to bring my larger one that holds water bottles too but was hoping that this smaller size one would be acceptable? Fully loaded the pack itself is 8.5" w X 5" h X 4" d. (I think it LOOKS taller than it is in this picture bcuz I was holding the camera so close but it's really only about 5" tall.) I have a hard case for my camera that fits onto the belt and I was HOPING that I could get by wearing this configuration at the 2 Universal parks?!?! What do you think? Will they allow me to wear this set-up or will I have to take it off? Although it's a smaller size it's nylon so it's lightweight but it has 3 compartments & if I pack it right I can fit 3 of those smaller disposable ponchos, 2 eyeglass cases (1 for me & 1 for DS), my wallet and cell phone. If I have to take the camera off the belt and put it in the pack then I would probably not have room for the 2nd eyeglass case unless I got rid of the ponchos. (Whether or not we need the ponchos will depend on the weather forecast when the day comes.)
(WHY 2 eyeglass cases you ask? Well, I have RX sunglasses so I constantly switch between the 2 pairs of glasses and need a case for 1 pair. My DS doesn't switch glasses BUT we both take our glasses off for any rides that go upside down. I am just not willing to risk losing a $400+ pair of glasses for a thrill ride.)
