We have two 8A connecting rooms for our upcoming vacation and my sister has an inside room (unsure of catagory). We see quite a few 1 bedroom suites available still and are contemplating trying to get an upgrade at port if still available. I know that it's a 1 for 1 swap so I'm wondering if we can swap the two 8A rooms but them put people from all three rooms in the two rooms (there are 7 of us). I want us all to be in concierge and don't want to have to get three rooms.......

You can absolutely upgrade from multiple rooms to a single room, or other combination (such as 3 for 2). We were traveling with a group of 4 once, in two cabins, and at checkin we were offered a Cat R in exchange for those two rooms and a small amount of money. What a deal. Yes, just ask, they'll figure it out, and make you an offer.

I'm pretty sure it's like you said: 1 for 1. Once you have 2 out of 3 upgraded I don't think the ship cares who sleeps where. But to move everyone from 3 rooms to 2 with room keys & privileges in concierge for everyone, I don't think you can do that. It would really depend on how many people you have total & room in the lifeboats for the rooms you're moving to.

Well maybe so. Interesting. Never heard of that being done before.

That's what I am wondering. I want everyone to be able to use the services of concierge. I just won't work for us if only some of us can take advantage to the perks of concierge.

Well, go to the supervisor's desk and see what they say. Maybe it works. Maybe not. Let them tell you no if it's a no proposition.

Then all would need to be occupying the concierge suite. Concierge privileges only extend to those staying in concierge cabins or suites.

That's the question. When you upgrade at port, can you combine two rooms into one in concierge and use the benefits. Or will only three of the people from one room be able to use the benefits???

If all are then staying in Concierge and there IS no other cabin, there is no reason they wouldn't - there is no other cabin involved as you are all in one cabin. The problem will come if you keep one of your three cabins. If all of you will not fit into the concierge and one regular cabin remains necessary, then those in the regular cabin will not be allowed to participate in concierge things.

Whether they charge you cancellation penalties on the other cabins is something else all together - and I have no clue.

To clarify, you would like 1 bedroom suite and a concierge cabin for 7 of you? The One bedroom suite sleeps 5 not 7, so you would actually need to have 2 concierge cabins to ensure everyone has concierge access. So it would be trading 2 8A's and an inside for either 2 Concierge cabins or 1 One bedroom suite and a Concierge cabin. Is that correct?

I see the confusion! No, we would be trying to get two 1 bedroom suites. We just want to make sure we can consolidate three rooms to two and put the seven of us in two 1 bedroom suites.
