Just thought I would drop a line and mention to anyone travelling between November 11-14 and onward a bit. There is a SPE (society for professional engineers) conference in Anaheim November 11-14 and will bring approx 10,000 delegates and their families into the direct area. Dh will be attending and then we are joining him on the 14th. FYI for anyone who needs a ressie for those dates.

So sounds like a lot of them might stay the rest of the week and weekend.

:scared1: Looks like we're not going to have any days with low crowds while we're there. Can I pick 'em' or what? :sad2:

I hear ya. We're going those days as well and will be there the rest of the week and the weekend, we were hoping to have a quiet week I guess we can throw that out the window...but you never know, I mean they do have a conference, it's not like its a disney trip for 10,000 people so maybe it will just be a little more crowded during the evenings but the days will still be good.

It just kind of sucks for us because we paying big bucks to take a ten day trip from the UK, we knew the following week would be busy becaues it's thanksgiving week so we wanted the week prior for a quiet week. Boooooooooooooo.

You are right the days will not be as busy probably more the evenings. If you want to eat onsite make a ps. I was thinking it might be a good idea to mention it with a lot of rooms around the resort possibly being booked up.

Well 2 things:

1. How early can you make PS for restaurants? Is it 60 days or 30?

2. I just found out the park holds a max capacity of around 80,000 park guests - that's when they say no more ppl allowed. In retrospect 10,000 people probably won't make that HUGE of a difference if 80,000 is the max, especially since it's not an overly busy time of year as it is. And it's also quite likely that many of those people will opt to go a few days before the conference rather than after the conference like you're doing. So all in all, it may not be that big of a deal. But the heads up is definately appreciated.

I booked my hotel room at Hojo's months ago, but my dad and my step mom just booked their room a few nights ago and had no trouble at all getting a room or the ent. rate so ppl probably haven't started booking yet.

Thank you for letting us know. I still hold on to...:scared1:
but oh well, it will be decorated for Christmas and we will have a good time no matter what. :thumbsup2

Say if you hear anymore as the time gets closer let us know. Any FYI is always a help. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the info. It doesn't seem to bother anyone else in our group that the parks will be crowded...even super-crowded with the Veteran's Day weekend.

DD says that as long as it isn't 90 degrees when we go, she can deal with the people. Both sons say the crowds make the park more fun. (They're so young. :rotfl:)

DH says..."look on the bright side...if there are more people, maybe the parks will stay open longer".

My SIL asked me if I was on drugs when I made all the reservations. :lmao:

 We love November because it is our fav time to go. The weather is warm and the Christmas decs are up! We just lucked out this time and dh ended up being there anyways!

Since all the last conventions, i really dont see any significant difference in crowding at Disneyland... except for parking. They tend to park in our unused lots from time to time...(Cast Lot, not guest lot)
