Each of the kids picks out a special ornament each year. I put their name an year on the bottom of it, then when they move out they can take their 18 or so ornaments with them and start their own tree.

Well DS is decorating the tree and he picked out an ornament a few years ago that looks like a giant red glittery 6" long spring. He apparently decided to stretch it out and came walking over here with a 6' long ornament.:rotfl2:

Think I'm going to call it a night. I need to help DS finish decorating the tree and clean up our giant mess in the living room. Have a good night and get some rest tomorrow. :cloud9:

:sad2: You may be at that golden 24 week mark.. but that doesn't give you permission to go be a shopaholic :sad2:

I'm gonna have to bust out the duct tape and help Frelan keep you home. TSK TSK

:lmao: :rotfl: like I really could stop Staley without some major bodily harm to myself. :rotfl:

oh man I'm tired.

grogging out as I type, but not wanting to go to bed just yet.

Hubby got home late, we pondered dialyiss or no dialysis ( he took his day off yesterday) .. he finally decided he better run since he would be fluid overloaded. Plus would need to make fresh batch of solution (takes 7 hrs) as the current batch expires in 10 hours. Hard to waste 30L of fluid (and the time to make it) ya know?
so he's just started his run. won't be done until nearly 2 am our time yawnnnnnn

my sweet darling man remebered something about today that I forgot.. He walked in with diet coke, a candy bar.. and a long stemmed rose. I asked "what's this about? You missed me that much? "

and he said "well it is our special day"

.. oh no I completely forgot.

:lovestruc It's our Kidney Day :lovestruc
We hadn't acknowledged it for awhile, since it failed we kinda brushed the day under the rug. But as hubby so wisely pointed out. That brief time with a functioning kidney was enough to pull him from the "sick role" and get him into college for his degree.

:goodvibes Kidney Day is back into the Garcia holiday calendar. :goodvibes

I do know that I need to stop pushing myself so much. Thankfully we are pretty much done shopping... Whatever is left he can do.. and I can grocery shop online. Which I hate to do, SO expensive. Oh well.. Its better then squirting out a baby in the produce section. :scared1: :lmao:

AWWWW!!! Happy Kidney Day!!

And really Megan, no spitting out babies in the produce section. If you're going to give birth in the store at least go to the candy aisle. Sheesh, don't you know public place birthing etiquette?:lmao:

DH was really bummed out. They told them that odds are they will finish their training and then get furloughed aka laid off! Why do they bother hiring people to train if they are just going to lay them off??

All week long he has been so happy to be back to work, you could just see his happiness and the spring in his step as he walked out the door each morning. Now this morning he had that worried, tired look on his face, no spring in his step.

I tried telling him that a lot of things can happen between now and April, but it really didn't do much to cheer him up. I'm trying to look on the positive side. I have a really good job, we have no debt other than the house payment. True, we've had to cut back on Disney trips and not a lot of money is going into savings these days. But other than that our lives haven't really changed much. Guess it just kind of bums me out that he's bummed out.

Once again rescuing the Hyenas from the depths of the Community Board.

Twas the night before Sunday when all thru the house not a creature was stirring not even two spoons.

Huh??

shouldn't that be two sporks?

Why yes, I believe you are correct. Let me being again. Twas the night before Sunday and all through the house not a creature was stirring not even two sporks.:thumbsup2

I was clipping coupons this evening and clipped some for you. Hopefully you can use them even though they are not yet expired.:rotfl: Do you exchange coupons with others? Do you want me to start putting in ones that you can trade, like diapers, etc? And I do hope you'll appreciate the KY His & Her's $5 off coupon.

aww that sucks :mad

If your hubby is like mine, being jobless (almost jobless or unhappy with a job) takes a big bite from the self esteem. It makes them feel "less" -- I chalk it up to E's sense of machismo. The need to be THE MAN , the protector , the provide to the well being of the family. Even if the loss of income won't send you to the poor house.. it's a loss to his pride and sense of self.

We had a chance to see how much "take home" pay will be.. I about died laughing at the absurdity... after taxes, health insurance premium, retirement, and teacher union dues.. It's a tiny scrap more then if he was just sitting at home on disbaility. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Health insurance bites 25% of the total gross pay. And that doesn't include copays and deductibles. Not suprised, I paid 30% of my income on the premium when I was working at Head Start. But then the state reimbursed me for a portion of the amount for covering E.
In this case, the single coverage is free to employee. No reimbursement.

BUT he is deliriously happy working. Bouncing off the walls and driving me slightly insane with his witty jokes and general enthusiasm. It's nice to see him "back" again.

Working is not always about the money.
I hope something changes to bring back that spring to his step. :flower3:
