Pshaw... my kids do that all the time. No matter how many times I tell them t be careful, every night before bed I am cleaning toothpaste up from the counter. Little buggers.

did they? I pulled the ad but haven't looked at it yet.

we're going to the il's for thanksgiving, too. we're bringing a few items, plus apple pie for dessert. mil is a great cook, so even though it's her first turkey, i think it will be good. apparently she is hugely excited.

and tomorrow i get to tell my mom and sis that we aren't going to spend it with them after all. (i gave my mom a heads up about this last week, but i wasn't sure; now it's definite.)

Good Morning hyenas!!

You guys had a fun conversation last night.

My Thanksgiving is pretty simple. Go to church, come home and go out to eat for dinner. Which will be a first. All of my children are coming to our house for dinner on Sunday to celebrate, and I didn't feel like doing anything Thanksgivingish two times. So Dave, Kaitlyn, my Mom and Stepdad and I are going up to the mountains for a nice meal over looking a river. My Mom is so excited. She loves to take what we call "Sunday Drives," to different areas around us. This time of year should be beautiful up there. Really festive. Now come Sunday, I will be feverishly making up that turkey, stuffing and gravy.

Megan, I've seen that turkey commercial a few times. I actually saw it last year for the first time. Glad they brought it back this year again, cuz it is one of the funniest ones I have ever seen too.

Alex, it is raining here!!!!! Woo hoo!!!!!!! We need it so bad.

Today is my baby's birthday. Kaitlyn is 15 years old. This makes me sad. I don't even want to think how fast the next 3 years are going to be. Off to college.................................

Twas the night before Thanksgiving when all thru the DIS not a creature was stirring not even a Hyena.

Yeah I know, I'm a dork!

So did anyone wonder like me why the pardoned turkeys at DL seemed to have disappeared? Well I got the answer today...apparently they weren't getting along with the cow. No seriously, so they were removed from display, still alive, but just not in public view. However, this year's turkeys will be sent to occupy their space right after they are pardoned. So everyone, let us rejoice turkeys are coming back to DL.

The turkeys will be flying first class on United Airlines along with the entire first class cabin that DL purchases for the turkeys and the National Turkey Federation delegation that accompany's them to DL. He and his entourage will be on a non-stop flight from DC to OC in time for his appearance at the Thanksgiving Day parade at DL. This year's turkey names are Pumpkin and his alternate is Pecan.

Alex, it is raining here!!!!! Woo hoo!!!!!!! We need it so bad.

Today is my baby's birthday. Kaitlyn is 15 years old. This makes me sad. I don't even want to think how fast the next 3 years are going to be. Off to college.................................

My friend told me it is supposed to be sunny (and cold) through the weekend, how sweet is that?!

GEESH, I feel like I've spent the day eating. My friend and I dropped our kids off at school this morning (except for DS4, whose preschool was closed today), then hot-footed it to a tiny but popular local eatery called the Maltby Cafe. Home cooked food, generous portions and yummy! I think I've only been there once, and it was for lunch; my goodness, gigantic sandwiches that you pretty much either ate when you were starving and ate nothing else, or brought half home.

ANyway, breakfast was good, DS4's behavior was good, I got two Maltby Bars to go. DH made me; it's been years since we had one, so we are going to be happier than pigs in mud tonight! These are so popular, if you don't request one when you first arrive, they are GONE before you leave. Between my friend and I we snapped up all but the last one, I think. The poor lunch crowd will get none. Hee!

DS8 had a personal pizza award coupon that had to be used up this month, so I was going to take the boys to Pizza Hut as a surprise after school. I mentioned this to my friend, whose daughter also had one, so we parted after breakfast for about an hour and a half, then picked up the kids and went to lunch together!

DS4 had his brother's personal pizza while DS8 dined on the kids' buffet; pizza, salad, dessert pizza (which he didn't like) and cinnamon breadsticks. I was still full from lunch so just had some pop, and my bill came to a whopping $5 and change. I gave our server a $2.50 tip and felt like a big tipper.

Now it's time to get DS4 off to gymnastics (which I just remembered ) ...
