whoa! forecast for our area, sat. PM through sun. Am: 3" - 12" of snow, and 50 - 70 mph wind! :scared1:

we went sledding late this afternoon, and stayed out for 1.5 hours. the kids were having a lot of fun with their friends and other neighbor kids, until my friend and her girls had to go home. then all of a sudden ds4 burst into tears and said he was COLD and needed to go home NOW! What the heck?!

so we hurried home, and he sobbed as i undressed him. then i snuggled his little popsicle hands in my armpits as he cried in my arms, poor little guy. when the sobbing subsided i asked, 'do you want to snuggle some more, or go see daddy?" he whined, 'i want to see my daddeeeeeeee!" and stumbled up the stairs, sobbing anew. kinda pathetically cute... :rotfl:

once my hands were free i made a batch of hot chocolate to warm everyone up. yummmm! :goodvibes

i think my thighs are just about thawed now...

hiya, sam!

i talked with great-grandma who lives in vancouver; she told me about the new marriott and said it's real close to them. she's scoping out rates in hopes we'll come to visit. ;)

That would be neat, our office building literally shares a parking lot with the hotel. :thumbsup2

Ahemmm...Tag Fairy, where are you?:rotfl: Guess when your DS4 decides he's cold, he's cold! I was out cleaning off the back porch this afternoon and shoveling snow off the deck. I made DS come out and help, but he really didn't want to because he was out in the snow all morning. But then once he started shoveling he made a giant hill to sled right off of our deck and had a great time.:thumbsup2

Well time to go watch the movie with the kids. I'll check back in with you later.

Ahemmm...Tag Fairy, where are you?:rotfl:
Ha ha, nice try! :rotfl:

boys are apparently warmed up; they're 'cocoa'ed and now playing a videogame on the tv.

i am snuggled up under a blanket and really don't want to come out to make dinner anytime soon...

Hi Ladies!!

Sarah, your snow pictures are so cool!! DH was caught in the Cajon pass the other day. Barely got out in time, back through on the 14. I hope your DBF got home OK.

So Alex......................how was your DL trip? Haven't heard too much about it yet?

Bernice, So DH broke his wrist teaching a lesson. This puts a whole new spin on teacher dedication!!!!!:goodvibes Poor guy!!!! :sad2:

Hello, guess everyone is trying to keep warm today. There is a strong breeze outside that almost froze my face! :faint: I went to the mall and returned a Lancome product, which it turns out I may be allergic to. I also bought a scarf from Hollister. I'm picking up food from Marmalade Cafe and then heading to my parents house to play rock band with my brother and cousins. :)

hi, melody!

we had a great trip, of course. the christmas decorations were gorgeous, the weather was great most of our stay (it sprinkled a couple times), and the boys were all about the rides this trip! oy. :faint:

we had a DLH room with 'fireworks view', which turned out to be pretty darn noisy! :rotfl:

we never did see the fireworks from in front of the castle, but we did watch from the waterfront and enjoy the soap flake snow. it was funny, but people's reactions were so utterly sweet, just gasping in amazement, and kids twirling in it, adults laughing and chattering away. it was awesome.

we decorated cookies at big thunder ranch (ds8 was pretty grumpy that day, but ds4 had a blast, and even got up to play a game with pluto and other kids), did a couple character meals (goofy's for dinner one night, lilo & stitch breakfast another day.) we walked through pixie hollow (CUTE!) and ds4 was beside himself with happiness; i think the girls playing silvermist and tinkerbell got a kick out of him. :goodvibes

some of the fun of the vacation was sucked out when dh returned home mid-trip for his knee surgery. both boys were a little depressed after that, they kept saying, 'i miss my daddy. i want my daddy.' and i wasn't much better, though tried to hide it, of course. dh's surgery went well, and he's recovering smoothly now.

we had a rough day coming back home; first ds4 got sick at orange county airport (he was eating mcdonald's lunch, and i think got something stuck in his throat), then our noon flight was postponed due to an oil leak on the plane. minutes turned to hours' delay, and finally we were given the option of transferring to lax for a 4;30 pm flight, or staying at sna for a new plane for a 5:30 flight. i decided it would be easier to stay put, so we didn't get home until around 11 pm. oy! but it was good to be home once we got there. :)

Well... it has started snowing again. I guess we are hitting the tip of the big storm that is going to be rolling through the area. We are in the south sound, supposed to get 6-12 inches. Heres hoping!! We hit the grocery store yesterday so we could stock up on yummies in case we get snowed in.

My mom is staying in Vancouver right now... She keeps getting lost. :rolleyes1

To say we have snow is an understatement. It has now been freezing and snowing for over a week...and no end in sight. Every day we keep getting 2-4 inches of snow. But the snow seems to keep packing the other snow down, we probably have about 18 inches now and more coming tonight!:scared1: My poor car is still sitting at the bottom of the hill, hopefully we can get it home sometime next week.

DH will be working days next week so I'm just going to get up and head in with him early in the morning so I can get to work. It's crazy I tell you!

I spent most of the day sewing my environmentally friendly gift bags. You know, the ones I was going to sew this summer. Remember I hate sewing, so that tells you how bored I must be getting.:rotfl2:

It's a sad day in Hyena Land when I have to rescue us from the depths of oblivion.:sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

I'm almost done with my aprons!! Woo hoo! :cool1:

You guys sure sound like you are getting alot of snow!! How fun!!!

My family is watching "Dark Knight," the Batman movie. It's good, but really violent. Especially the "Joker." :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Even though the story is good, I;m not liking all the violence. So here I am instead.:rolleyes1

We rented some movies the other night. DD watched Dark Knight, but I didn't, not my type of movie. Instead I watched Horton Hears a Who.:lmao: Cute little movie, my nephews came over today and they watched it and liked it also.

I've been sewing like crazy the last couple of nights. DH is at work, so nothing better to do. It's kind of strange to have him working nights. But next week he is on days and he has Christmas and Christmas Eve off. Then he is working nights the following week, but once again has New Years and New Years Eve off.

Our weather here is absolutely crazy. I've lived here for 38 years and have never seen anything like this. The snow is blowing and drifting now, the news just said some of the roads are being closed due to 8' snow drifts. People, I'm telling you we don't get 8" snow drifts, let alone 8' snow drifts!:scared1:

I believe that Al Gore has been lying to us all. The polar caps might be shrinking, but I can tell you where they have relocated!:lmao:

hello! it's snowing here. i guess the big storm is finally here on the northeast end of the sound.

we're watching buddy the elf. i haven't seen this before, and i'm not a big fan of will farrell, so we'll see if we watch the whole thing. surprisingly, dh is the one who turned it to that channel. :lmao:

(the dark knight is more his kind of movie.)

I wish my digital camera wasn't broken. I would love to show you guys some photos. We have up to 18" icicles hanging from our house. Off my back porch one of the icicles has dripped down onto a dinner triangle and it has about a 6" icicle hanging from it. Really neat looking.:thumbsup2

cool!

dh said we had a very large icicle hanging down the front of the house. i kept looking where he was pointing, and saying, 'i don't see anything.' he finally said, "well, it's not there now, i knocked it down." i'm sure he did it for safety reasons, but i would have liked to see it first, at least! :rotfl:

I've seen parts of that movie before...not really one of my favorites. A few funny, cute things, but I thought it was sort of stupid. It's supposed to be on the CBS channel here, but instead they are covering the storm.

It looks like warmer air is moving in from the Oregon coast. They are saying over the Oregon coast range is now freezing rain. It seems to be warming up sooner then they thought. But they still think the Portland/Vancouver area will be the last to thaw out because of the cold air funneling down the Gorge.

We have icicles everywhere. No danger in them falling down since we are so cold. Earlier today I had to call DS and my nephews in, the wind was blowing huge chunks of snow out of the trees. They were upset because I made them get out from under the trees and play in the backyard.
