Our expected 3 to 4 overnight looks more like just a 1 inch dusting, enough to cover the dirty snow again.
We wore hats and gloves at DL in December, the humidity content is lower than what we have here in MN. 60 degrees is balmy here, not in Anaheim. It's the type of cold that seeps into my bones. Not the numb cold of a MN winter.. not sure how else to describe it.
Hubby had his clinic vist last night, battling beginning of rush traffic onthe way there.. but we made good time 20 minutes. However, on the way home -- right in the middle of rush.. took us 40 minutes- GAH! It wasn't even snowing yet.
At the clinic hubby admitted his hand hurts, doctor looked it over and pushed..
OUCH! wince .. hmmm, looks like you broke your 5th metatarsal, we call that a "boxer's break".
I was like "told you so" and we had fun laughing at HOW he broke it. His nurse said "I'm not really laughing at you, but....."
As hubby put it - he was dong a "relationship building exercise with a student", no really dear admit that you played mercy with the kid.

Only
my husband would try to prove a point and break something in the process. Apparently while he was playing (and winning) , he heard a
SNAP Correction..
EVERYONE in the classroom heard a snap.
He calls me with his first words being "don't be mad but..."
Anyway, haven't gone for Xray yet. He didn't want it casted or braced until Christmas break started. Can you imagine how smug the kid would feel, if he knew he bested the teacher afterall?
It's also his dialysis arm, don't want a cast.

Nephrologist said they can brace it with a splint/ velcro. Take it off during dialysis.
Or he can go to a hand surgeon and have it pinned.
UMMM no thanks, splint sounds just fine.
Did I tell you he broke a rib while golfing? (golf range/driving balls)
At that time, the first hospital he went to (twice) only did a front view Xray. Missed the break and said he was "drug seeking".
Finally went to another hospital, in pain, they did side and front view xrays (the proper technique BTW). Yep, he had a hairline fracture up high. Pain meds and rib wrap for a few weeks. And bone scan to find he has osteropenia.
Haven't gone back to the other hospital since. Thankfully, in my area, we have choices in hospitals.. about 15 (excluding specialty rehab, pediatric). When you go by ambulance.. they ask you which one you prefer.
If it's a trauma.. whichever is the closest trauma center. We have 3 that can handle that level of care.
If you're sick or hurt.. we are the best place to be indeed.
