Another ticket question...

We are arriving this Sunday, the 15th. We have 5 day base tickets and would like to add 2 more days to our tickets once we arrive. I've already done online check-in and we are set to arrive around 11am. Could I add those days to my magic bands before I've ever gone through the security gate at CSR or used our band for our door? I guess what I'm trying to say is what time will our bands be activated for the day.

We had not originally planned on DHS for arrival day, but we booked the Fantasmic Dinner package at Mama Melrose for 3:30pm that day. My plan is to go to DTD once we arrive and shop, get a snack and possibly add to the tickets before heading over to DHS. I don't have any FPs for that day, not too worried about it as we are just planning on being there to get my mom acclimated to a park and see Fantasmic.

Thanks for your help!

With the new info from Itinkso:

Yes.
(But, you really should USE the tickets to enter a theme park BEFORE you upgrade,
to make sure you get the price-bridge and save the most money.)

Thanks Robo! Always appreciate your helpful answers here on the boards, even if I just lurk! :smickey:

I'm not sure that your ticket will become activated if you only check in on-line.

If it DOES activate that way, you can do the upgrade.

If, in fact, you MUST physically check into your resort before the tickets
become active, you can check in as early as 6AM on the day of your arrival,
even if you don't go to your room (and even if your room is not ready, yet.)
@Robo, onsite guests are now capable of doing online check-in and the resort activates the tickets and room access prior to the guests' stated arrival.

This went into effect the end of February. Onsite guests receive a text message with their room number and they bypass the front desk completely.

As long as guests post their estimated arrival time in their online check-in info, their tickets are activated before that stated time. This was also confirmed in the SWW thread because some SWW guests will head directly to Studios from the airport.

... My plan is to go to DTD once we arrive and shop, get a snack and possibly add to the tickets before heading over to DHS. ...

To make sure you don't get hit with last month's price increase, you'll want to make sure you USE the tickets before adding the extra days! That means enter the gates at DHS before doing your upgrade; don't do it at DTD if you haven't used the tickets yet.

Enjoy your vacation!

Thanks, @Itinkso ! This whole bypassing the check-in desk is so foreign to me! I appreciate your clarification!

Be sure to list an early arrival and your tickets will be activated prior to that time. The text with your room # may be sent much later when your room is actually ready.

No one has reported any problems with this as far as I have seen. I'm planning to try it next month - at least the front desk bypass. :)
