Another surprise trip cause mamma ruined it-NOW THE ULTIMATE FANTASY DISNEY VACATION

We are looking forward to meeting Tink and the other fairies on this trip!!! From what I have read it is a good idea to get there at the Toon Town rope drop.

We are planning on Crystal Palace breakfast and then Pecos Bill's and Columbia Harbor House for our CS there.

I have come to revel in your excitement too! I just keep telling the kids "I know something you don't know!" :lmao:

If I told my kids that then they would surely get it out of me! This has been just horrible for me to keep this secret. I so badly want to tell them. Last night I watched Youtube videos of parents telling their kids they were going to Disney. I wanted to get the camera out and tell them right then.

Hello everyone ! I am so glad that so many of you have jumped on board to read and to comment what is being planned. My DD:laundy: is just getting sssoooo excited about their upcoming trip. I am not going with them this time, I have so many other things going on in my life. Church happenings with trips to go on. Next month, to Gatlinburg, Tn. for a ladies retreat with my church, or a week-end doing scrapbooking, they are both the same week-end. In May a defiinite trip to Gatlionburg with my Seniors group for a whole weekend of Gaither Family Fest:rockband: .In July, I plan to go to the beach:beach: with my niece and her family. In August, there will be a trip with my Seniors to either Savannah, Ga. or Gulf Shores, Al. I have been trying to convince her that they need to go to WDW during one of the school breaks. Can you believe they have NEVER:eek: :scared1:  even been to WDW? It is kinda hard for her to plan trips because her DH is an over the road truck driver, and he doesn't always know when and how much time he will be off. Well, I need to get off here and get the office and desk back into some semblence of order. Lookin' to hear from all of you:surfweb: Talk to you later, bye now:wave:

Hi mom

OT. We have a stomach bug  in our house so I may be MIA for a few days. Right now DH is sick.

Also quite off topic - DH and I won two adult 7 day passes to Universal. I asked him if he wanted to do US instead of WDW but he said no. I am kinda glad because even though some of my favorite rides are at US - it still lacks the magic that you can only get at Disney.

But.....

I hate to let the tickets go to waste and they expire at the end of the year...

so I checked prices at the Hard rock Hotel today for his birthday weekend in september...

I hope your family mends fast!! The flu stinks!!
What wonderful plans you are making!! congratulations on keeping the secret so far!! I know you will be able to keep it this time as it will be so wonderful to see your kids faces!!
Ok, I have to ask! How will you feed your family in Orlando for week for $800 doing a disney table service each day? If you could break that down for me I'd love to see it!!
Can't wait to hear more!! We are going in May and I can't wait!!!

eww, we had that nasty thing right before Christmas....DD8 was so sick that she just laid there while DH and DD5 decorated the christmas tree....that is the girls 2nd favorite part during christmas.
 Sending ya get better wishes!

YEA :wave2: your Mom is on board!! Hi Mom!!

Hello and Welcome!!

Oh I am such the nerd! :teacher: I made a spreadsheet (oh how I love my spreadsheets and lists :cloud9: ) using the menues from allears. I then calculated the total price for my family to dine at each restaraunt including 7.5% tax and 18% tip. Buffets were easy to calculate because it is one set price and there is no guess work. Menu restaraunts were easy for the kids because most kids meals are $7.59 including drink and dessert. Then I just guessed what my husband and I would likely purchase based on their entree' prices and drink (no dessert or appetizer for us if it is a la carte).

Based on my spreadsheet there are plenty of restaurants that my family can dine for less than $100. We will then just eat the rest of our meals in our room or bring snacks with us to the parks. If you are interested I can email you the spreadsheet for you to put in the numbers for your family.

Here are the restaurants that come in less than $100 for a family of 2 adults, 4 kids, and one toddler who will share a plate with me. (sorry about it not lining up just right).

Coming up...Already planning another trip for September?

eww, we had that nasty thing right before Christmas....DD8 was so sick that she just laid there while DH and DD5 decorated the christmas tree....that is the girls 2nd favorite part during christmas.

YEA :wave2: your Mom is on board!! Hi Mom!!

Thank you so much. DH is the only one sick right now. Tau was sick last week and you know how babies are with stomach bugs - they are sick then they get better then they get sick again. He was sick Tuesday and again on Thursday.

Last night I had to cancel cubscouts (I'm the den leader for Omicron's tiger cubs) because DH was so bad. All during the night I had stomach cramps but I kept telling myself it was all in my head. It must have worked because I am fine now :rotfl:

I just hope none of the other kids get sick. I only have 4 hours comp time left that is suppose to last until May 9!! I am usually off on Tuesdays so that day is not a problem - it is the other 4 days a week that they can't get sick. ;)

Two weeks ago on a Thursday morning Omicron said his stomach was hurting and that he didn't feel up to going to school that day. I told him tough, you can't be sick it's not Tuesday!

OFF TOPIC:

Ok, so DH and I won two adult 7 day tickets to Universal Studios. We want to keep our June trip a Disney trip and seeing how the free tickets expired at the end of the year. So anyway I didn't want the tickets to go to waste so I did exactly what US marketing team wanted me to do. I booked us 5 nights at the Hard ROck Hotel in September around my Husbands Bday. The total was less than $700. I only booked one room so this may be a little getaway just the two of us. So excited!! :cool1:

Next...Attractions we haven't done at the Studios

That is worthy of the dancin' 'nanner!!

Told you I was heading over from the BB!! :cool1:

1. You haven't been on Soarin'? If you come back without riding that one, I refuse to read your Trip Report. :lmao: We got to ride it for the first time on our honeymoon last summer; I loved it (and, I normally hate motion rides.)

2. Country Bear Jamboree is one of my favs from when I was little; it's a bit outdated, but it's cute. Your greeks will love it! (By the way, love the greek nick names!)

3. We're doing 2 days at US, too! Did you do that sign up thing they aired during the Super Bowl?? I kept trying to check out what it was on my lap top, but I'd get my hand slapped by DH. (He's from Pittsburgh and obsessed with the Steelers.) By the time I got on the site, the tickets were GONE. I was so angry; I verbally slap DH on a weekly basis about how that could have saved us money! :rotfl2:

4. Our trip is a secret too; I tell my mom EVERYTHING (I mean, she knows EVERYTHING about me), and I'm going nuts trying not to tell her.

5. I'm going to have a panic attack when our 90 day window rolls around if the park hours aren't up; I'm such an OCD planner. Disney may regret not posting hours just because of my obsessive calling and asked "when? when? when?" (Imagine that to the phrase normally asked by kids "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?")

6. Subscribed!

Studios is on our agenda for Friday (our last day). We are saving it for Friday because we have a lot of star wars fans in our group :darth: :yoda: :chewy: :ewok: and we want to see the star wars weekend at the studios.

Alpha loves stormtroopers. He has about 50 in his collection. He also has an AT-TE and other medium sized ships that I have no idea what their names are. To me, most of the storm troopers look the same but he knows each one by name and can tell if one is missing.

Omicron and Delta watch the clone wars all the time and like re-enacting the battle scenes. Omicron has an AT-TE and some figures and some ships but doesn't play with them everyday like Alpha does.

Chi enjoys the movies and understands the basic concept but isn't a 'fan' like her brothers.

OK, enough of that history...Here is my list of Studios attractions that we have not seen together.

  • ****Star Wars Weekend*****
  • Jedi Training Academy
  • The American Idol Experience :::still on the fence on this one. Not sure if we want to do this - sorry but I just don't see the fun in it unless you know who will be performing. Nathan (the dad in the other party we are going with) is an opera director at the local university so I may offer to watch their children while he auditions then it would be fun. But if he doesn't want to or doesn't make it we may just skip this:::
  • Backlot Tour (line was too long)
  • Honey, I shrunk the kids movie set adventure
  • Indiana Jones (I have seen it but not DH or the kids)
  • Lights! Motor! Extreme Stunt show
  • Beauty and the Beast (I am making them watch this with me this time)
  • One Man's Dream (I love this attraction but kids and DH haven't seen it)
  • Playhouse Disney live on stage! (I think Tau would love this as he now knows who most of the characters are)
  • Sounds Dangerous (still skipping this, not for babies or DHs who are def)
  • Streets of America (or maybe we did this and I just don't remember)
  • the Great Movie Ride (line was always too long)
  • the Magic of Disney Animation (doing this for DH - the architect and artist)
  • Block party bash (I haven't seen it since Cars have been added)
  • HSM3 - If it is like the HSM2 then I will likely be disappointed again. But if Chi wants to see it I will make it a priority

Wow! I didn't realize there was so much we haven't done until I wrote it all out. Chi told me last night that her favorite ride was the Rockin Roller coaster because she read in her teen beat magazine that it was the Jonas Bros favorite ride. DH and I love the Tower and will def do that again. And the boys all loved Toy Story so we will def do that also.

Fantasmic I would like to see again but not worth waiting for an hour or two for seats. Just my opinion.

Next...My surprise trip within my surprise trip repoert

Coming up...Finalize plans for the yacht ressie and Tau's birthday

Afternoon!

We've never done One Man's Dream. *hides in shame* That's on my list this time. We've never taken the time to draw anything at the Animator's Studio, so I'm determined to fit that in, too.

Great choice on TOT; that's one of my favs, although I refused to ride it until I turned 21 and was practically drug on my DF.

Don't be embarrassed about not doing One Man's Dream. Lots of people skip this one. ;)
I've visited the animator's studio way back when it was a real studio and you could watch them drawing something. Basically it was a tour where you watched animators at work. I kept thinking how invasive that would be to the employee. I couldn't imagine people coming by my desk and watching me through a window :rolleyes1 My boss is also our state senator so we sometimes have 'company' as he likes to call it and he takes them on a tour of our facility and but to have a constant line of tourists watching over your shoulder while you work??

I think now it is more hands on. A tour then an animator shows you how to draw a character. My DH is an architect plus he does water colors on the side. He is always sketching something and I think he would love this experience.

For anyone who is interested here is a water color he did of baby Tau and me when he was born. Sorry about the quality - it was taken with my cell phone

Hey, everybody, it's me, it's me, the Mom ! I am just so happy to see(hear) from all of you again ! Yeah, they were definitely a bunch of sick puppies. The last time I went over there, I didn't even get out of my car, because I don't want to catch anything:sad1: :scared: .Oh sweetie, I am so glad you posted that painting of you and Tau. I get all teary-eyed every time I see it. Her DH even titled it. He calls it "The Gift". Isn't that just so sweet ? I am surprised that my DD has not spilled the beans about the trip. Hey, Clara, thanks for the encouragement to her. You know, "We...must...be...strong..." I love it, love it. mWell, I gotta go, it is time to close up here and go HOME:car: See ya:wave:

Tonight was a close one... on the way to target tonight the kids asked if we could take the seats out in the van on our trip to WDW so that they could sleep in their sleeping bags. At first I was like no you can't...wait!! What do you mean when we go to disneyworld? Who said anything about us going to Disneyworld?? :rotfl2:

Then they asked if we could have a surprise trip to WDW. I asked well how exactly you want me to surprise you? And they said for us to put them in the car and say we are going to wal-mart. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

so I may just have to do that :rolleyes1
