I know, I know - the Suites at Old Town is not a place that anyone here would recommend. That being said, however, is it okay enough for 3 adult men, including a police officer and a firefighter, to spend one night? My DH, his brother and his brother in-law all refused to fly down with the 8 other women and children going on this trip. They also don't want to share a bed (DH is 6'4, 350lbs), and want to pay less than $90 for a room. The Suites at Old Town was the only place I could find that met all of the requirements ($70, including tax). Will DH kill me if I book them there? :confused3

"police officer and a firefighter" would make them government employees. Check out the Comfort Suites Maingate East. Most of the Choice hotels extend the government rate to state and local governments as well. If not, also try Country Inn and Suites.

just as pp said check comfort suites maingate east. trip advisor has mostly good things to say about it with some bad reviews thrown in.

Someone just wrote a decent review on Ramada Main Gate West on the review board above and I think she paid around $60 for the night. Check out the review board. Based on what others have said, I would not consider the Suites at Old Town.

Right down the road is Seralago which is not a bad place for $50-$70 a night. They have suites also.

I believe these suites use to be the Days Inn Suites, or still are. I stayed there with my family 2 times and we really liked them. There is plenty of room for 3 men, as there is a bedroom in the back with 2 double beds and a murphy bed in the livingroom that is also a double bed. There is a full kitchen as well, which works out for breakfast/lunch/snacks and cold drinks!

The first time we stayed, we had a view of the bungee cord on the the crane and listened to people screaming while they jumped! It was quite funny. The second time we were close to the pool and laundry. I personally think it is a very nice, inexpensive place to stay off site! :hippie:

Thanks to all - we talked about it, and decided to cancel the reservation. We booked the guys into the Buena Vista Suites, which includes full breakfast, for $90 including tax. Seems nicer, and I won't worry as much!

Now, to finish up with cleaning the house before I leave this afternoon! :woohoo:
