Trying to figure out what to do for our upcoming vacation!
Our oldest will be 4 1/2, youngest 20 mo. We have a Joovy Sit N Stand, but it doesn't steer that well in my opinion. We could rent a City Mini with glider board. Maybe we should rent 2 single strollers? We have 4 adults in the group.
Opinions? I do think our oldest will be walking a lot, but don't feel like he can do more than a couple hours, especially in September heat!

When we took my 4 1/2 year old, a glider board would not have been enough - he needed to sit sometimes. And he is extremely active and loves to walk. We took our City Select used as a double, so no advice on what to rent, other than perhaps something with 2 actual seats. I would also prefer a double over two singles, if that's an option.

You know your kids better than anyone else, but with my kids, a double stroller wouldn't work. We prefer two single strollers. The youngest rides in one, and our older children take turns in the other. Using a double stroller is asking for trouble for us. 1. They are more difficult to navigate through crowds 2. If our kids are hot, tired and cranky they are more likely to argue with the sibling that they are riding with 3. They are more cumbersome to fold and hold on the bus. 4. It's easier to split up for different attractions with two strollers, especially if the baby needs to go back to the room for a rest, and everyone else is able to skip rest time.

Our double is a tandem; I agree that a side-by-side would never have worked for us. Way too wide, and the kids would have fought all day.

If it were me, I'd rent a citi mini double. We did when we had a 7 week old and 6 year old and it worked great. I took a sit-n-stand when I had a 1 year old and 6 year and that worked well, but when we had the 7 week old, we needed something for her to lay down in etc., so we went with the citi mini double and it worked great. I think with your oldest only being 4.5, they'd need an actual seat to rest/possibly sleep.

It's side by side, but it fit through all doorways at Disney and we had no problem with it. We were even allowed to bring it into 2 table service restaurants.

It's also super easy to fold for buses and easy to push.

Somehow I missed this post and started a very similar post. Sorry for that, but will monitor both posts for replies.

Just a note that strollers get moved around or you are trying to find yours in a sea of strollers. With a double you would one you would only need to locate one;) However, two smaller ones would be much easier to fold for transportation or navigate through crowds. We use our Double Bob and loved it great the parks, but my hubby got a crazy workout carrying it on the buses.

To this point, two strollers means two adults wrangling them onto transportation (or one person taking a fairly long time). Someone has to wrangle the kiddos. I always hold the kids' hands while DH deals with the stroller and all the junk that has to be moved around to fold it up. Not sure how we would do all of that with multiple strollers. If we ever split up, it's usually brief and the oldest walks, keeping the youngest with the stroller. With the way we tour, we would never have a need for two separate strollers.
ETA: I had forgotten that there were 4 adults in your group - obviously my advice doesn't really apply then. Maybe it will help someone else, so I'll leave it.

It depends how much you're going to split up. When our girls were those ages we rented a City Mini Double from Kingdom Strollers. It worked great so both were able to sit when needed but if we split them up and 1 of us took the 4 year old to MK and I took the 1 year old back to the hotel 1 of them had to walk or be carried. At the time the 1 year old liked to be carried in a baby carrier on my back anyway so it wasn't a big deal. This time we're bringing 2 Summer 3D Lite strollers. They're a little bit bigger than a normal umbrella stroller. That way we can push them together or split up and each have a stroller. :)

Thanks for all the tips! I think we are going to go with a City Mini Double. The kids aren't likely to be separated much but the youngest is happy to ride in the Ergo if we do split up for a long period of time. I know our son can totally manage on day trips here in town, but Disney is a whole different animal!
