I will be spending my b-day in the World this Oct. After having made up my mind that the BC was the place for us this trip (me, dh, ds-5, dd-4), my dh has talked me into changing to Pop. Dh and I stayed there w/o the kids last year and really enjoyed it. After considering the price difference, I was ready to change to POFQ (I have always wanted to stay there) but dh says the kids won't care anything about the FQ, but they would love the large icons at Pop. I know he is right and we can pay for our air with the money we will save. I hope I won't regret giving up the BC.

We just came back from the PoP and it was great! I think the kids would love the POFQ also, the pool is fabulous and the food court has great ceiling decorations. Also a great playground, music playing alligators and the boat to Downtown Disney. Both resorts are excellent.

Honestly, both the Beach Club and French Quarter are great resorts. But so is Pop Century. It's such a fun resort! Of course no matter what Disney resort one chooses, they're bound to have fun. So why not save lots of money that can be better spent elsewhere... like a fancy dinner, or a nice present, or whatnot. :)

terribm...I would have to agree with your DH regarding the kids views on POFQ. We are going to be surprising our kids with a trip to DW before we head to the beach later this summer but we are also going on a DCL cruise next summer. My son thinks that we were looking at resorts for our stay next year...little does he know and we gave him the choices of All Star Movies, POP, POFQ and WL and without a doubt he picked POP. He is 8 and just fell in love with all of the icons and the different pools. He also likes the idea that we can rent surrey bikes there. So we will be booking our trip soon and I hope that we enjoy it. I agree with Chip n Dale Express since you will be celebrating your birthday save the money and treat yourself to a special dinner or get yourself a special present to remember the trip:) Have a great time whatever you decide.

After staying in deluxe resorts since 2000 we tried Pop last year and I've been converted. We're going back to Pop again this year. We (DW and I) loved the resort it made us feel like kids again and as I get a little older I'm getting cheaper. Your DH is correct your kids won't care about POFQ, their intrest will be the pools. Plus it's hard to overlook the money you will save and if you're like us you won't be spending much time in your room anyway.

We stayed at Pop Century last month. It was a "make-up" trip for the days that we lost at the Yacht Club due to Hurricane Frances (stayed there the night before our cruise and were supposed to return for three nights afterward). All I can say is we were not disppointed.

Pop Century is very nice in it's own right. And I agree, why not save some money if you can. Not only can you buy something nice; you may be able to go AGAIN with the money you save!!

What does it really matter when you're at WDW?? :wizard:
