Another SS Room Request Question

Hello All! We just booked a 4-night stay at SS in mid-September. It will be our first stay at SS.

During our upcoming visit, I will be 7 months pregnant. I'm feeling great and assume I will be during our stay, but I want to request a room location that will minimize walking as much as possible (since I'll be walking so much in the parks).

Is there a good location to request to be close to both the main pool and to a bus stop? Not that I'm looking for sympathy or extra perks, but should I mention that I'm pregnant when making the request?

Thanks for the advice!! :)

There are multiple bus stops and pool near the multiple bus stops. So you should be good almost anywhere. But what are your plans when you go to the parks? You'll be doing a lot of walking there. And if you take the bus to Epcot, you'll be walking a mile to and from the bus stop there.

Thank you! We're looking specifically for a location near the main pool (the newly renovated one). I'm definitely aware of the walking to and within the parks and am fine with that, I just keep hearing stories about long hikes to the bus stops at SS and wanted to try to avoid that if I can.

Thanks for any advice!

The Paddock Pool isn't the main pool - that's the High Rock Springs pool near the Carriage House in the Springs area. The Paddock pool is located in the Paddock.

The walks to the bus stops at SSR won't be anything like the ones from the buses at the parks.

Ok, that's good. I've never found the walk to the parks from the buses to be too bad, so it should be ok.

So I'll request a room in the Paddock area I guess.

Thanks again!

If you're looking for a location based strictly on its central location and short walks to everything, you'll want to request the Springs. This section is closest to the High Rock Springs pool, which is the main pool, and the Carriage House, the location of the front desk, Artist's Pallet QS restaurant, Turf Club sit-down restaurant, and the Fitness Center/Spa. It is also the closest to the community hall and the arcade. The Springs section is a short walk across a bridge to the new Paddocks pool and its QS restaurant.

There are several down sides to the Springs section, though, IMHO. It is the last stop on the bus route. It's also the location where guests at the tree houses switch buses to get to/from theme parks. During morning hours when everyone is heading to the parks, it can sometimes be difficult to find seats on the buses. It can often be standing-room-only on the buses from there. (I would hope someone would make a seat available for a 7-month pregnant woman, though.)

The other thing about being the last bus stop is that when you're coming home from the parks, exhausted and really wanting to get home, you need to make the grand circuit through the entire resort before getting to your stop.

Also, because it is so close to the main pool, the Springs is one of only two sections at the resort that doesn't have its own quiet pool. High Rock Springs is great, but sometimes it's nice to go to a less "exciting" pool to relax.

Here's a map of the resort.

We stayed at SSR over Memorial Day weekend. We requested the Grandstand. Our room was really close to the bus stop which was the first stop on and off. It was also very close to the main building. It has a lovely pool area with a bar as well. As others have mentioned, the Springs area is where the main pool is.

If you request Springs, you will be close to the new Paddocks pool and the main pool and the main building.
