Another Six Flags Passes question

OK, so they are offering a deal now that if we buy four passes then each pass is discounted by $10 AND we get a free parking pass. I'm trying to figure out if it makes sense, in that case, to get a pass for DD (who does not yet need one) as it will be only $20 more than getting the 3 for us plus a parking pass, and we may keep going into October and need one for her when she turns 3 anyway. Also if we buy her one we get an extra coupon book, and we may get more discount offers for next season because we bought a four-pack.

Basically it's a question of paying $427 as opposed to $406. To sweeten the deal even more, we get an extra 5% off the passes right away by using our Discover card (and 1% off from Discover later on). Of course, the Discover rebate/discount also applies to the cheaper option...

So...WWYD? I don't want to be penny wise and pound foolish, but it's not as if we'll be going every week or anything...however, we plan to visit a few other Six Flags parks (New England, DC, possibly Lake George).

Thanks!

I think it would depend on how much you'll go after your DD turns 3 and if there will be any discount coupons for admission that you can use for when she is 3.
We went through this last year and just ended up using the coupon booklet coupons for free or discounted admission for my DS3.
I'm sure you know that the parking pass won't work at the other Six Flag Parks, so you'll still have to pay for parking which will be around $15 at the other parks.

This wasn't the case for me. I bought season passes and a parking pass last spring when we went to Six Flags in San Antonio. I was still able to use the parking pass at the park in Arlington when I got home.

I'm pretty sure we were able to use our prepaid parking pass @ Great Adventures

They just changed it this year, your parking pass is only available at the park you purchase it at.

Yep...NOT my favorite change, as I'm sure you could tell! Otherwise we would just get our passes at Six Flags New England (it's cheaper!)

I was told by a worker on the phone at that park, that the coupon books this year will include discounted parking coupons for other parks so that should help...but it's still obnoxious!

I think that is why they offered the "free" parking pass, to keep guest somewhat happy about having to pay extra if they want to attend more than 1 park.

Here is what is in the coupon book (I was told it does not list food and game coupons but those will also be in the book):

Only 3 bring a friend free tickets this year instead of the 5 they had in past years.

They also raised parking, daily parking is up to $17 for regular (not sure about preferred), season pass parking is now $50 so buying the 4 pack will save you a lot there.

The Funatics reward program was also discontinued, that was an easy way to get 20% off next years pass just by visiting 5 times (last year I already had my 5th visit by mid April :) )

Also, Balin's Jungleland (kiddie area in the Golden Kingdom) is gone. The playground areas are missing, they moved 2 rides over to where Wiggles World was (now Safari Kids) and removed the other kiddie rides in that area.

I have to say, as a family of two that USED to be season ticket holders for Six Flags, their buy 4 deal has ticked me off (it did last year too). If they don't think my business is as good as the business of a perfect family of 4 - which apparently they don't because they want to charge me more for my passes AND make me pay for parking when the perfect-4-family gets that free - then I don't need to buy season passes anymore.

I didn't see it when I was looking at their price page. Is there a code?I am in NJ and was looking to but 2 season passes for myself and my son. He was going to ask 2 friends to buy their passes with us to get the FOUR deal. Can we do this? My husband and other kids just don't go enough to buy them season passes. Thanks.

I just looked at Six Flags Great Adventure on it said it right on the first page, also said it when you go to the season pass page. From Six Flags Great Adventure page:

1. Buy 4, Get FREE Parking
Buy four or more passes and if you process them at the park by April 24, we’ll give you one Season Parking Pass absolutely FREE – a $45 value! Remember, you must buy AND process your Season Pass ID’s by April 24 to receive this special free offer.

My 13 year old wants to go Opening day. So we have to get moving on our season passes. Something to look forward to after a long cold winter!!

I ended up getting the 3 passes and biting the bullet on a parking pass (which we put on DS' ticket since we don't see ourselves going without him). The total was $386 after Discover Card discounts (we are doing Hurricane Harbor too). Just booked our hotel for a Memorial Day weekend trip to SF New England, and I'm looking forward to it!

MomToOne, I hear you on the "perfect family" thing...one of the reasons we were choosing SF this year is because we don't have to buy DD a pass yet, so I had one of those "What was I thinking?" moments last night after posting...next year we will probably do the Busch Platinum passes but why spend $ we don't need to? I think they should give a free parking pass with TWO passes...it's really found money for them...or institute a leveled passport system which would include parking for one price, preferred parking for another, like Busch does. Makes much more sense to me.

3MickeyMom, FYI, you can print out your vouchers right after the payment goes through, then take them to the park on day one...no need to pay shipping costs or wait for US Mail!
