we will be 4 adults and 2 kids (child prices) and I'm presuming that by the time we go next year they will be differentiating between the adult and child credits.

I know that at restaurnts that aren't character meals or al you can eat it is perfectly acceptable to share meals and use less credits. As there are a couple of signature restaurants we would like to try and the fact we won't be able to eat everything every day i would like to save some credits.

I take it me and DH could share one adult TS bewteen us, and the kids could share one child credit between them and we would buy drinks OOP and top up the tip, but how about if we ordered one adult meal and 2 kids ones, would be able to share some of their food. I know that if there are no child appetizers they get to pick of the adults and all that food would be too much for them. I know that they could share the kids meals but then we would only end up saving childs credits. I just don't know if it would seem cheeky
sharing with a child (well 2 adults and 2 children sharing 3 meals in effect).

Yes, you can share both of the ways you have suggested, you and your spouse and the 2 children. However I think that most of the restaurants have added child appetizers, I cannot find the thread that mentioned this. As long as the meal is not a buffet or all you can eat it is acceptible to split a meal. We did this at CS's as well in Sept, I ordered 1 adult and 1 child meal, my DGD (4), my Dmil and I shared the 2 meals. :sunny:

Don't be to sure about that. I think Disney compensates for this issue by making a 10 year old pay as an adult.

you could be right, and i think the flexibilty you have at the moment is why so many people love the DDP, and if they get too regimented with it, it will put people off purchaing.
