When will it stop. A reported 8 dead and 25 wounded.
You will never convince those who want to use firearms against the innocent to give up said firearms. If guns were banned completely on earth, that would be a start.
If the world stopped making the weapons in the first place, it would change the majority of human culture. You will never convince those who want to use firearms against the innocent to give up said firearms.

That's naive. So many guns already in circulation. Would take a very long time to make a difference.

Let's start with the Military, Secret Service, Capital Police and every protection detail for every politician. Then you may have an argument that I could get behind. Until then, anything else runs afoul of the Constitution. If guns were banned completely on earth, that would be a start.
Not for sale, now what?People are motivated by money. A generous nationwide buy back program would be fairly successful in getting a lot of guns off the streets.

The guns on the street make a lot more money than they would get with a system if there could ever be a buy back program. A "buy back program" would only be for getting rid of my and other lawful people's guns.People are motivated by money. A generous nationwide buy back program would be fairly successful in getting a lot of guns off the streets.
What lawful person would not call and report their firearm stolen? How does the faux security of your firearm prevent your firearm from being stolen? Cars are secured with lock and key. Cars are stolen. Homes are secured with lock and key. Homes are broken into. If my firearm is inside my home, it is secured behind lock and key. If it is in my car, it is behind lock and key. If it is on my person and I was attacked and unable to access it to protect myself for some reason, it could be stolen. What if there was a law that the owner of the gun would be charged for any crime committed with said gun? If a gun is properly stored, it shouldn’t be stealable. And if your gun is stolen, call and report it. That would excuse you from responsibility.
This is not true. Australia did a massive by back and imposed lots of restrictions. Most analysists feel there are now more guns in Australia than before the buybackPeople are motivated by money. Here's the problem with the bolded... there already ARE term limits... it's called "elections". People are free to put another person in that spot. If the majority want the same person, that's on them.Likely this thread won't be up for long anyway ... but I like the idea of a "feel the average citizen's pain" type regulation and accountability - where they don't already exist (US Examples). So beyond other accountability measures already mentioned ..
For All Federal and State Legislatures
- Should be paid at the average level of most citizens from the country / states income levels.
- Term Limits - enough is enough already / And allow Federal Representatives to be recalled
- Abolish pensions for serving x years in the legislatures
- Healthcare provided at the absolute minimum of coverage offered in the market place
- Tax any speaking engagements, books, and other monies raised as a result of public service - at at least 70%+
- Especially for federal level legislators - send the security costs, travel and other perks back to the states to be paid for -
- Get some accountability back into political donations - the fact that millions upon millions are spent is an abomination at this point - Legal bills should never be paid by political donations
Wish that were truly the case, but I think the real problem is called gerrymandering at the local state levels - so need to add that to the list as well - thank you for reminding me!Here's the problem with the bolded... there already ARE term limits... it's called "elections". The difference is that Germany doesn't have this kind of shooting on a regular basis like we do in the US.And this incident doesn't have much to do with anyone in the US anyways. Germany has far more restrictive rules and laws than the US does. Many of the rules and laws people want to do here to stop gun violence. Well, look how that helped. Gun violence even though those rules and laws are in effect.
