Another question about dry clean/iron services

Okay, the satin gown horror story has me convinced.

I would like to have our formal clothes pressed.

Where do I take them? And do I use the plastic Mickey bag if I want anything laundered?

Come on all you 'I don't do laundry or ironing on a cruise' cruisers.

Give me any info you can. (The price list on DCL's is great.)

I just want to know the procedures. I ironed DH's shirt right before dinner for formal night last year, and my hair had fallen by the time I was finished. (Of course, we didn't realize until the last minute how badly wrinkled it was, and I was afraid if he did it, he'd have a scorch design too.) LOL!

Sunday night is formal on Eastern. Don't I have to notify or drop the clothes off before 5:00 on Saturday?

We put ours in the bag as we were unpacking. Put it outside the door right away and had them back late Sunday afternoon.

On our first cruise in 2002, we put them in the bag and handed them to our stateroom host as we were unpacking and had them back by 6:00pm Saturday night! Two weeks ago, we did the same thing, but did not get them back until 5:00pm Sunday. Which wasn't a problem for us with late seating. Best money you will spend on the cruise, send everything

I had DH's suit dry cleaned and a bunch of stuff pressed. I had it all back by 5:00 pm Sunday.

That was the best tip! I had freshly pressed clothes for the rest of the week.


I used one bag was for dry cleaning and I used another for pressing.

This sounds like a great idea. How about having some clothes laundered in the middle of the week. Anyone done that?

We'll have 3 men's suits (DH's, plus 2 DSs'), my formal dresses, plus dress pants, and other clothing that I'm SURE will get wrinkled by the time we leave Boston, fly to Orlando, get to the Radisson at the Port, then finally get on board the ship. I'm going to check out the price list on Dave's site and budget this into our expenses. I think it'll be a losing battle to try and keep all of our clothes from getting wrinkled and knowing I can just send them out to be pressed is a great relief. Also, I think towards the end of the week I'll send our regular laundry out to be done, too, since we'll still have a couple of days at Disney World after the cruise.
