It's going to be our first stay at Pop this September. It's our first stay on site so we're way excited! I know these questions have probably been asked over and over but here it goes:

1. Does Pop have the little Mickey soaps that everyone talks about? If so, how often is it replenished?

2. Does Mousekeeping make little towel animals?

3. Is a Mickey wake up call available there?

4. Does the refillable mug include the Icee machine?

Thanks for your help!

1.There are mickey soaps.
2. I have gotten a couple of towel animals but don't expect them at any of the resorts.
3. There is a Mickey wake up call. Last year it was Stitch at all the resorts, don;t know if this has changed.
4. Icee's are included in the refillable cups.

Enjoy your stay!

Hi! You're going to have such a great time! :yay:

How many in your family? Have you requested a particular building or view? Or going to wait and see what happens at check-in? Don't forget you can always ask at check-in what is available and look at the amp with the CM - they are usually very helpful.

The Mickey soaps have changed...there is a pic somewhere on the DIS of the new ones, but not sure how to find that. They will replenish everyday if the saops are gone...so if you save them, put them away and they will leave more..you can also ask housekeeping for more and they will happily you some. :).

Remember the beds are changed every 4 days, but if you would like them changed more often just call housekeeping.

The thing with the towel animals is that it depends on your housekeeper and if s/he enjoys doing them and/or knows how to make them. I have had a few, but hardly ever at POP. We have always been in the 50's buildings - top floor of bulding 2 or 3.

I'm so excited for you!:cool1:

p.s. We also leave a tip - $5.00 per day. We make them up before we leave home in cute envelopes with stickers. That is for 2 people and we are neat freaks! LOL. I do not think it has much to do with the tip - either the housekeeper for your area knows how to make the towels animals and enjoys doing it or they did not take the class. The one time we had incredible towels animals was at FQ - she was the sweetest housekeeper! Amazing! She must have spent so much time doing the towel animals - everyday was a surprise!

I am not sure if it makes a difference, but we stayed at POP in April for 7 nights and we left a tip each day and we had towel animals everyday of our stay. Mousekeeping even arranged my sons mickey mouse and jedi mickey in the curtains facing out the window one day! It was so cute and the kids got a kick out of it. We left a dollar per person per day for mousekeeping. I put 4dollars into each envelope(7 envelopes in all) and let the kids decorate them with Disney stickers and crayons. You must label them " For Mousekeeping" or else they will not just take money that you lay out for them. I hope that helps! Have a wonderful trip!:wizard:

We have stayed at Pop four times and we have received towel animals each time. However, our first stay at Pop (March 2004) and this past April, we had towel animals every day--12 days each trip! The other two trips we received a few randomly over the stay.

We always pack away the mickey soaps and housekeeping leaves lots of extras. We also always tip.

We love Pop! It is very much a "Disney" resort! Have fun!

Thanks for all your help. It's only myself and DS (7) for this trip so these "little things" will make his day.:)
How do you arrange for the wake up call? Do you just notify the front desk and a "normal" wake up call? Also what does he say?

On our first stay there Mousekeeping was FANTASTIC! They left little towel arrangments and cute things....On our second visit Mousekeeping was not so great. A lot of the time it looked like they did the absolute minimum (no new towels, etc)

there's a button on the phone to set up the wake up call. it's all automated, just punching in a bunch of numbers

Pop was great! I didn't have one complaint and we were there right before July 4th so it was busy. When we got to the room there was a towel animal in the window, very nice little surprise. My kids really enjoyed the arcade and the pools. For the wake up call, I always had Stitch but Mickey says something too. I don't know if they change it or not. We stayed in building 4 of the 60's section. This was the ideal spot, we were very close to the Hippy Dippy Pool and Classic Hall. We were also fairly close to the bowling pin pool. We had a room facing the lake so it was nice and peaceful back there. Have a great time!

We had towel animials every day. Each day they got more and more elaborate! Our Mousekeepers were the best. We did leave a $5 tip each day (there were 4 of us that went). On our last day we got this huge towel floral arrangement. We brought each and every one of them home and now have them displayed throughout our house :thumbsup2

The soaps and shampoos that are in the bathroom are fantastic. I'm very picky about what I use in my hair and their shampoos made my hair feel softer then anything else I have ever used. Every day we put what we didn't use in our luggage to take home, and they were replenished each time, I'm sure they are used to and expect this.

The wake up calls were great. We used this every day with each of the kids (DS9 & DN11) "fighting" over who got the next days call.

The Icees are included and were delish. We loved POP and can't wait to go back again. Hopefully we'll be able to pull off another trip next April. The sooner the 2008 prices come out the longer we have to pay the trip off :) This time we are going to do a surprise trip for DS9. Can't wait

Can you take the towel animals home? We always left them in the hotel when we checked out.

there has always been a debate about taking home towel animals, but i remember one person asking the front desk and they said yes you could take them home......

Brooke:)

We never got any grief from the Mousekeepers when every day the towel animals were "gone". We just put them in our luggage. There were 2 very large ones that were a little hard to fit but we got them in :lmao:

OK, I haven't stayed at the Pop and I can answer 3/4 of these questions, lol.

1. Does Pop have the little Mickey soaps that everyone talks about? If so, how often is it replenished? Yes, but the soaps were changed recently. They are round now, not wrapped in a Mickey wrapper and don't have the clear cut image of his whole face anymore. Just a bubble-shaped Mickey head barely carved in.

2. Does Mousekeeping make little towel animals? Yes, but not all the time or for everyone. You might get one, you might not.

3. Is a Mickey wake up call available there? Yes, but it is only Mickey for a second now, then it is all Stitch screaming. Instead of a magical, happy, pleasant call you get an annoying one...unless you prefer a screaming Stitch to a magical Mickey.

4. Does the refillable mug include the Icee machine? I don't know. It does sound too good to be true, doesn't it??

You can take them home. :) The Self-Appointed WDW Towel Animal Police might crab at you about it, but it is OK with me and it is OK with Disney. :)

I can confirm beyond the shadow of a doubt.. it does include the icee machine. :)

We are at Pop in one month and are so excited!!:cool1:

I know that this has been asked before but I forgot to write it down--

How do you say "Mousekeeping" in Spanish?

I left envelopes with tips in them last time, with mousekeeping in English written on them, and a few days they were still left there.
Someone on here posted that you should write it in English and Spanish. And I think Creole they said too.....

Anyone know?

Thanks!:)

I don't have any connection with Disney but what I do have is almost 20 years experience in the hotel industry. Based on that, I would be really surprised if Disney is really ok with people taking towels home with them. Towels aren't free and they aren't consumables that you expect to go through "x" number per occupied room. Now I haven't read previous threads on this topic and I don't doubt that if someone asked the right (or wrong) employee they were told "sure, enjoy" I really doubt management is any happier with that they they would be if you took the bedspread because you like it.

My suggestion- take pictures of your towel animals

We will be there in late Oct. and I am not sure of the time of the fireworks at the parks. Could someone tell me the most updated times . Also, Do some parks close as early as 5:00pm?

September will be our first visit to POP also and I had been wondering about the towel animals. I didn't know if they would leave them in the room for the extent of your stay or take the "old" one when they left a new one. Sure hope we get a Mousekeeper with Towel-animal skills! My dgd would be so excited...me too:yay:
