Another phone call about Dangerboy.....

........those phone calls parents hate to get............" Is this " Dangerboy's mom ?, You need to come pick him up ". I asked if he was okay, and if I could talk to him, and the reply was , " no, he's too muddy to come in the house, so I had to call for him ". They were playing football, and he was completely covered with mud. I sent my DH in his truck with lots of towels. Dangerboy ended up getting hosed off in our driveway before he could come into the house ( sorry, he wouldn't let me take pictures! )

I put velcro on an old bedspread and attached it to the backseat...got those cheapo mats from Home Depot for the floor.

DS required to disrobe in garage and then head directly to shower.

Game night so much better than practice. Some football moms collected money and hired people to clean the uniforms. The kids shower and come home (eventually) clean.

Younger DS's best Pop Warner practice was the one in which the field was a mud pit and they got to play in it. He was just a muddy mess and completely happy. He was 10. Luckily I had to go to work so DH got to do the clean up. DS did get hosed down in the driveay before entering the house! Now at 17, he won't even go near mud! Funny how they change!
