Another one of those UY threads! But I think I got it!

Ok, here goes. My DH and I plan on doing the most of our traveling to WDW in October. So after researching I requested a UY of August when we purchased, which we received. Since we already have a cruise booked for the end of this year we figured we would do Disney next October (2009). Since we were given 100 developer points when we closed we were forced ( ) to book a WDW trip for this June so we wouldn’t lose those developer points. So we booked a week in an OKW studio which came out to just about 100 points. So I figured this would use my developer points and I can bank my August UY points to our next trip in October of 09. Well when we received our closing papers I realized my Uy was August of 07, not 08 which I assumes. So if I wait to use my Aug 07 points for October 09, I will lose 2 years worth of points. So this is what I am coming up with. Please let me know if/where I am off.


• August 2007 points 8/1/07 - 7/31/08 165 POINTS BANK TO AUGUST 08. This will leave us 0 points for 2007 UY.

• August 2008 points 8/1/08 - 7/31/09 165 BANKED FROM 07. BANK 08 POINTS TO 09. This will leave us with 165 points to use by July 31, 2008 or we will lose them.

• August 2009 points 8/1/09 - 7/31/10 165 BANKED FROM 08. BANK 09 POINTS TO 10. This will leave us with 165 points to use by July 31, 2009 or we will lose them.

• August 2010 points 8/1/10 - 7/31/11 165 BANKED FROM 09 AND 165 BORROWED FROM 10. THESE POINTS WILL BE USED FOR OUR OCTOBER 2009 VACATION.

So at this point we would have 0 points left with 165 more points coming to us August of 2011.

You have until the end of March, 2008 to bank your 2007 UY points.

Note the below. Your 2008 UY goes from August 1, 2008 until July 31, 2009. You will need to use any banked 2007-UY points by July 31, 2009.

• August 2008 points 8/1/08 - 7/31/09 165 BANKED FROM 07. BANK 08 POINTS TO 09. This will leave us with 165 points to use by July 31, **2009** or we will lose them.

The other lines are similarly changed.

You should ask your guide about getting a one year extention for banking points from 07. Since you are a new member, they usually will give you an extention to bank your 07 points if needed and will not hold you to the March 31 deadline.

Actually when I called MS for mine as I was in a hurry to get them banked as a new member she said don't worry about it we let new members bank outside the period all the time. She added it wouldn't be fair to the new members if we didn't give them an exception. I would just call MS and if they give you any hassle then call your guide. Chances are that is what your guide will tell you to do anyway.

I just added on points that included 07 UY points, will find out in a few hours if they make an exception and let me bank them. My guide said it won't be a problem to bank even though the banking window is closed. Based on my previous conversatin with MS I don't see a problem. Not to mention if they don't do it I won't sign the contract for the add on

If you are travelling in Oct 09 you will need to bank 08UY points, use current 09UY points and borrow from 10UY points. I am not sure why you are saying you need to bank your 09UY points?? The only issue is the banked 07UY points into 08UY as they need to be used by July 31st 2009 or you will loose them.

Thanks again to everyone for their replies. At this point in order not to lose my 07 points that I will be banking into 08 I guess I should use them for our upcoming June trip. I really didn’t want to upgrade to a nicer room, but it seems as though I am forced again! I am starting to notice an overindulgence with Disney. Making us take a vacation's when we don’t want to, making us upgrade our room, making us order dessert when you have the meal plan. They really do know how to spoil you, even when you aren’t looking to be spoiled!! I think I can get used to this!!

EDIT: Ok, I just called MS and upgraded my room from a studio at OKW to a 1BR Boardwalk View at the BWV. 2 days out of the 7 days that we are going there are no rooms available at the BWV. So I am waitlisted. We will see how it goes.
