I drive my DH nuts reading in bed at night because I have my nightstand lamp on to read. If I get a Nook or Kindle, can I read it in the dark...is it lit in some way? If so, I may have found my sure fire way to get one very soon!;) TIA!

Hi

I have a Kindle and it is not backlit therefore you will need to have a light attachment of some sort. Amazon has a couple of versions.

I LOVE MY KINDLE!!!!:banana::banana::banana:

Hope this helps.

No, the e-readers are not backlit. I suggest you buy a Light Wedge. It lights just the page it is on. (it will work with both paper books and e-readers)

Kindle owner here, too. I have a small book lamp that I purchased at Target. I have a case for my Kindle, and the lamp just clips to it and works perfectly.

And you wouldn't want it to be backlit, because that would cause more eyestrain. I can read my Kindle for hours longer than I can look at a computer screen.
