Another Newbie with Questions

I have seen many DVC members have more than one home resort...my question is if I just purchased 200 points at SSR with a August UY, and in 6 months can afford 50 points at VWL, with a August UY also, can I use my full 250 points to book at VWL at the 11 month window?

No, you can only use all of those at the 7 month mark. The points only have 11 month booking at their home resort. The VWL points will only have home resort advantage at VWL.

If you want to book a resort in the home resort booking window (from 11 months prior to check-in to 7 months + 1 day from check in) only points from that resort can be used. In that window your SSR points can be used only at SSR and your VWL points can be used only at VWL. If you are booking within 7 months of check in then you can use any points at any resort. So once you are within 7 months of check in your SSR points can be used at VWL or at AKV or any other DVC resort, subject to availability.

Thanks for the lesson!! We have a contract for a re-sale purchase at SSR and will be heading to ROFR the end of the week or beginning of next week. So far the process has been quick. Now I just have to figure out how to work in using the 98 banked points from 07 and the 200 from 08 before 08-01-09!! We were not originally planning a trip to WDW this year as we have gone 3 times in 5 years and this past year were at DL in CA. I'm thinking a "happy graduation" trip for DH who will be finishing his second college degree in May!!!
