Another new "Possible Renter" question

Never having rented points or even stayed at one of the DVC resorts, I'm still trying to figure some things out.

I've looked at the rental board and I see many offers for renting points, but none of them have the amount of points that I'm going to need. Does that mean that I have to rent from 2 different DVC owners to get the correct amount of points? If that is true, does that mean two different reservations and possibly having to change rooms?

If I have special requests for a certain room, etc, do I ask the renter to make the request or do I just wait until I get reservation confirmation and then call myself?

If I want to add the dining plan, when and how is that done?

Just FYI, we are considering renting points for a one bedroom villa at OKW for the dates Feb 2, 2006 through checkout of Feb 11, 2006.

I would post the points needed for your stay and see if anyone comes to you. You can rent from 2 different owners....Its a pain. You would get to confirmation #'s but MS would have to be aware to link the ressie for you.

The owner can make a request for you. Remember its only a request its never guarenteed.

Once you get a confirmation number from the owner you can call MS and add it on to your ressie. This has to be done prior to arrival.

I'm sure you mean 2007. Check in 2/2 and check out 2/11 would be 292 points. I'm sure there are plenty of owners that have the points to rent...and one owner at that.

You are right! I meant 2007. Thanks for the info.

I didn't want to post any requests yet because I'm not absolutely sure what we are going to do, either renting or just getting 2 rooms at POFQ. I'd hate to waste someone's time if we decided not to rent in the end.

Gather up the cost for POFQ and compare that to a rental at DVC. Expect to pay between $2920 and $3504 for the rental. Also the 11 month window has opened for OKW owners....March 13th and the rest of the owners can work with you after July 11th. So time is on your side.
