We are hoping to go to Orlando for about 10/12 days around the 7th December but have not booked yet. For a couple of reasons we will not be sure until about the middle of November if we can go or not.

Should I risk the $70 and book it now in case it sells out, or do you think we will be able to get tickets nearer the time or on the day.

Many thanks

Debbie

I'd wait. You'll probably still be able to get tickets for a weekday MVMCP. You'll want to go on a weekday anyway--the weekends are more crowded.

Thanks Steph

I'm sure it would be a weekday - so perhaps I will hang in there a while, the only thing is as this is the main reason for going at this time of year I would hate to miss it.

Difficult one, Debbie. If MVMCP would be your main reason to go at that time of year, how would you feel if you couldn't get tickets?

last Christmas they were still selling tickets at the gates for MVMCP when we went on the 18th so you should be ok:) Have fun!:bounce:

I can confirm this. I had the option of buying tickets for several dates upon arrival last year. However, keep in mind that tourism was extremely soft in the aftermath of 9/11 last year. This, more than anything else, makes predicting this year's pattern all the more challenging. In years past it was a no brainer. Most would have agreed that you would be well advised to buy them well in advance, otherwise risk major dissapointment. Based on recent reports of crowd counts, I tend to think that this year will be soft, but not nearly as soft as last year. The monday-thursday dates are the least in demand because of school conflicts with locals. If you must do MVMCP on a Fri/Sat/Sun then I would suggest buying the tickets in advance. If you're open to weekday events then your chances that something will be available @ mid-November are much improved. It really is a tough call all the way around. Ultimately you will have to decide based on your individual risk tolerance.

Let me offer another suggestion if you will. You can call Disney direct once per week, from now until mid-November, and ask what the current availability is. Since the weekend dates are always the first to sell out, you can use that information as a fairly accurate gauge of demand. When all the weekend dates sell out it usually indicates that the remaining dates will soon follow suit. You can react accordingly at that point.
