my DS just posed an interesting question to me when I informed him that I had put out a new "cake" of soap in the bathroom. He wanted to know why I called it that?

I've always called it that. I know some people refer to it as a bar of soap. Where does the cake part come from?

Feel free to talk amongst yourselves and then share your thoughts....:teeth:

Cake can also mean a shaped or molded mass of food. Or a compressed mass of something else such as a cake of soap. This word can also be used as a verb describing the action of forming something into a cake.

who's bumm did you pull that info out of?

What do you call that thing you put frosting on?;)

Now, monkeyboy took the ball and ran with it - and has everyone talking amongst themselves.....

If, heaven forbid, he puts on a dress and starts talking about Barbra Streisand (who is one of my favorite singers, btw), we will have cause for worry!!

Is that anything like one of these things, Pam?

(Gee, do I really want to know???? )

Apparently, in urinals, there is like an air freshener thing in there. They sort of plop it in there.

And Pam what are you doing in mens' rooms anyway..

And Shannon, those Tastykakes are incredible! Thats a philly staple.

This place has a sign hangin' over the urinal that says, "Don't eat the big white mint". - Wade Garrett

Well, Cindy, "one summer at band camp..........";)

Although, truth be told, my first job at age 13 was to clean my Church's outhouses - yes, there's no indoor bathrooms at this Church for the grand sum of a dollar a week. But I never had to put "cakes" in the urinals......

And then in HS, you always got dared to run in the boys locker room...... of course I took the dare. (And no, I didn't get caught!)

Well after much :hyper2: :scratchin and more :hyper2: We have always called it a bar but I have heard cake before. Maybe its a regional difference?? Good thing we have Monkeyboy to set us straight ::yes::
