I watched a YouTube video last night on MB usage. It looked to be that you could get regular FP the day that your planning to use it and put it on your MB. Pleeeeease tell me this is the case. I can't plan months in advance on what rides I'm going to ride but the day of I can lol

1- you could get regular FP the day that your planning to use it

2- and put it on your MB.

1- That has been the case, recently.
We don't know for how long it will be the case, however.

2- I'm not sure that you'd "put it on your MB," but, regardless, guests have been able
to get and use additional same-day FP's. (But see my #1 above.)

Yes, at this time (unless it is changed today) people are able to use their magic bands for their FP+ and use their KTTW card for regular fastpasses. You cannot add more than the three allotted to your magic band.

With that being said, when FP+ goes live (which is rumored to be on November 1st), you will not be able to get regular FP anylonger if you planned FP+.

So your going to either have to plan your fast passes 60 days in advance or your not going to be able to use fast pass? I'm going 10/26-11/2 and I have the MBs. I'm not setting up FP times. Ill use the KTTW cards for this trip. I have no idea what parks were doing when while we're down there.

1- Yes. (Or, at some point prior to your day(s) at the park(s.)

2- That's not correct.
Eventually, when FP+ has begun to roll out for certain, you won't be able to do BOTH the FP+ AND regular FP at the same time.

You can use the app day of and make changes/add fast pass +. There are so kiosks set up and CMs with iPads. So, you can set them up day of. Still limited to three and obviously not sure of availability if you wait until you're in the park to schedule times.

Hope that clears it up.

Why would you not use the FP+ and take advantage of some of the great opportunities, such as reserved seating on select nights at Wishes! Nighttime Spectacular, Main Street Electrical Parade, IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth and Fantasmic! The MB will only improve your overall experience!

I am not sure if I believe this. The reason being hoppers. Why would anyone hop if you have to stand in nasty lines in park #2? I suspect (or at least hope) they will have some sort of system in place for people who hop.

Oh, I believe every bit of that 3 (or 4) per day FP+ limit.
It's one of the most ridiculous ideas to come from the collective brain trust that is "improving guest experience"
with the whole disappointing FP+ scheme.

Many guests will try to make their 3 daily FP+ reservations in the afternoon/evening only at the SECOND park of the day.

I think just the opposite. I think FP+ will ENCOURAGE hoppers.

Park #1 in the AM - early/RD - ride what is important, then tour at leisure
Park #2 in the PM - arrive for FP+ selections for "headliners", then tour at leisure.

At least, that's what I'm planning, and what it appears many are also planning to do. It's the best of both worlds: RD touring, and late arrival with FP in hand touring.

This is exactly how we have our sept trip planned out.

There are many of us who have done those things quite nicely for years without
needing to have our overall experiences "enhanced."

For me, at least, there is a lot more "taking away" than "giving" in this whole scheme.

I understand this plan. But why not just stay in the same park and apply this timing? Say FP+ reservations for Soarin' 5P, TT 7P, Maelstrom 9P. Meanwhile, still get there at RD & do things twice. (This is just an example.)
And it's genuinely a gentle question. I've been known to lose an hour hopping and no longer go for hoppers. I'm trying to figure out if I should go back to them. :)

I might use it for those....I'm just not into over planning. But I'm not using it for rides. I'd rather use regular FP for those. I was just wondering if I could link regular FP to my MB, not just FP+.

I would have to agree. It adds stress of planning every little detail. I'm not a big vacation planner...I'm more of a wing it type. Which is why I like the regular FP. Last year for the electric light parade & wishes, we had a fantastic spot and I didn't need FP+ or to wait for 3 hrs to have it.

For our situation (two little kids), we'd rather ride things once and move on. We sometimes head to swim/rest/relax at our resort before changing parks. Then again, we're going for 10 days, so we just don't like to spend a whole day in one park. And, the youngest always naps on the bus or boat.

I agree. There are far too few positives in this new system for our family. This is how I mostly feel about the whole FP+ system.

This is exactly what we did last week and it worked wonderfully!!! We just returned from an 11 day trip and lurved the MagicBands and FP+!!

We park hopped more this year than we ever have before! A couple of days we went to RD at one park, toured until it got busier and then moved to our second park and bypassed all lines and hopped right on the headliner rides!

One day we went to RD at one park then later in the day headed over to DHS. When we approached TSM the FPs were long gone for the entire day and the current wait time was 120(!!!) minutes. We used our FP+ reservations and were one the ride within minutes!

Another day we had FP+ reservations for MSEP. We arrived only 10 minutes before the parade and had front row, center seats right in front of the castle for MSEP and then were able to stay there for The Castle Show and Wishes even though they opened the ropes after MSEP. During the parade there was nobody within 10' behind us! I know it will get busier but for now it's great!

MagicBands and FP+ rock!!

I just chatted with a CM....if I want to use my MB like the current FP I can. I just have to go to guest relations and schedule the FP I want. They did tell me that it might be limited as far as times. I'm ok with that as long as I can get on that ride at some point that day. But if I use the KTTW cards, I can use that like I'm not a MB tester.
