I recently returned from WDW and thought I'd write a review of our magical trip. My sister, brother-in-law, niece (4yo), nephew (2yo), husband, and I went to WDW for a quick trip (5/12 - 5/16). Our trip was wonderful from start to finish.
A little background on us...We've been DVC members since 2001 and our home resort is VWL. We are all big WDW fanatics and love to spend family vacations together each year at WDW. I even worked at the Disney-MGM Studios in 1994 as part of the Disney College Program.
Back to the trip...We booked our trip about six weeks in advance as this was an unplanned, quick getaway. The VWL was only available for the 1st night so we stayed at VWL one night and OKW the remaining nights. Prior to our trip, we were very concerned about staying somewhere other than the VWL because we absolutely love VWL (boat to MK, theme, etc.). We were specifically concerned about staying at OKW since it has less of a "hotel" feel. Well, we ended up really enjoying OKW. This resort has a very laid back, friendly atmosphere. We stayed in building 35 and found it to be very convenient since it is near a quite pool and right across the street from a bus stop. The new water slide at the main pool is very nice. Plus, all of the cast members we encountered were very polite and helpful. One of the things we liked most about OKW was the incredible landscaping. I'd recommend OKW to anyone!
On another note, my husband and I absolutely loved the new Crush 'n Gusher attraction at Typhoon Lagoon. This is the best water ride at WDW!
For my family, one of the best things about DVC is that we know another WDW trip is always around the corner. We're already planning our next trip!
