I am thinking car rental, but does anyone know what places are conveniently located near the port in Miami? Any other tips are welcome too!

Not going to Disney so can't really advise on that one.

As for the ship, I've been on the Magic before but not the dream (8th cruise and only done the old ships). The Magic is smaller so I would assume it has a more cosey feel but not 100% sure. I love the TA's because of the number of sea days but surprisingly a lot of people don't like them for that reason. This is my 5th TA now (2 in 2007, 1 in 2010 and last years) and all have been amazing. Really looking forward to this one though!

We are headed to WDW for food and wine festival after the cruise. I compared rates and it is much cheaper to rent from MIA airport and drop off at MCO then it is from one of the closer places to the port. Even with the transfers from the port to airport it was $100 cheaper for us.

I was on the Dream and the Fantasy before sailing on the Magic. I prefer the feel of the Magic, but I wouldn't say it is that different from the larger ships. Castaway Cay was a big difference it was not very busy compared to when I have been there on the Dream or Fantasy.
