Another lovely day in Oklahoma. . .

Let me update a little here. Guess what Santa brought me for Christmas? Covid 19. I felt crappy on Christmas morning but the symptoms were my usual sinus symptoms, so didn't worry too much about it- although in an abundance of caution, I double masked and used sanitizing wipes, didn't eat or drink anything in the airport or on the plane, didn't sit next to anyone. By the time we got home to Portland, I was feeling AWFUL. I took a rapid test (easy peasy, right there at the airport) and sure enough, positive. DH was negative, and he's scheduled for another test on the 29th. I have definitely felt better; it's a cross between a bad cold and the flu. SO... I feel pretty badly about having flown yesterday, but at least I didn't know I was positive before leaving. Although, considering it's 30F here, being quarantined in Florida might not have been such a bad thing!

Good morning, leebee. So sorry to hear you picked up the COVID. As you have been doing, hunker down, stay away from others, lots of fluid, rest. Try and get a PCR test somewhere as you think you are over the isolation stage. Marie and I are doing PCR's again this coming Wednesday. She's coming along a bit every day. You've been vaxed so should not be too bad. But heck, who wants the COVID?! Get well, leebee.'s

Leebee I just saw this in another thread, I'm so sorry you had to catch this thing, and on Christmas no less! At least you made it home to recuperate. Take care, let's hope this moves on quickly.

We have gone from being empty nesters to being a multigenerational family 5. DD, her husband, and his 5 year old son have moved in with us. We had a large living room, two bedrooms, and a full bathroom that we never use and they were paying $1200 a month plus utilities for a tiny 2 bedroom apartment. It's working out ok, for the most part, but it's taking awhile to combine two households. We are ALL tired after long days at work/school, and nobody feels like unpacking when they get home at night. My dining room looks like something exploded in it, and I feel like I am spending my entire life picking up after people, cooking, and cleaning, but I know it'll settle down within another month. I'm tired, though. I miss my space more than I thought I would, but it'll be OK. I think.

On the positive side, we FINALLY got a new fridge and dishwasher. The fridge we had was an RCA, and they haven't made refrigerators since the 19902s, I think! New stove is on order, no idea when it'll be here, but I"m happy with the fridge and dishwasher- especially the dishwasher! Also semester break starts on Friday evening. DD and I are headed to NOLA for 5 days to visit my sister and BIL, drink some fun drinks, and eat some TERRIFIC food!
