Another lovely day in Oklahoma. . .

You didn't paddle far enough! :earboy2:

Of late I'm up the creek without a paddle! They say Covid19 has some of us stuck on the 'Anger' stage like in grieving. At least with there being 3 types of anger, I can shake it up. Hanging in here but it's really difficult.. sigh.

Ah, Jane, but we've come so far already!! There IS a light at the end of the tunnel, even if it's a long way off :sail:. Not saying it'll be smooth sailing, but we're getting there. Until we do, we're all here, listening and laughing along together, all in the same boat, right?:boat:

But you see we were in good flattening the curve standing at 300ish; now we are 3,000+ DAILY over that.. sigh.

DD will get her vaccine on Tuesday. There is a mini-outbreak where she works. She was tested yesterday and will be again on Monday. She tested negative yesterday, so so far, so good. She has also been fitted for a respirator. I'm concerned, a bit, but glad they are dealing with this aggressively.

Well... DD will NOT get a vaccine on Tuesday, as she got up this morning with a fever of almost 102F. I took her to walk-in care where they tested her, and sure enough, she has Covid-19. We are all quarantined as she was here for about 8 hours on NYE, 6 hours on New Year's Day, and about 5 hours yesterday afternoon. Her fiancee and his 4year old were also tested (PCR test) so they won't know for sure for a few days, but the doctor says there's a 99% chance they are infected, too. DH and I will be tested on Tuesday afternoon. DH and I canceled all our vacation arrangements. Everything was refundable except the 4 nights on DVC points at SSR, and I'm waiting to hear from Disney about refunding our park passes. Part of me is tempted to go to FL for 4 nights if DH and I test negative, but I'm also thinking maybe we'll just stay home, take care of DD, and give this virus and its restrictions the respect it demands.

ETA Disney isn't refunding anything. I can keep the money in the MDE account until we decide to go again.

Oh my Leebee.........I didn't read your post when I posted. So sorry and pray she feels better real soon. See, like the thread I started on the CB....will she still have to get the vaccine or want to; not that this is a concern right now.

Oh no...pretty much the worst-case scenario and when she was thiiiiis close to vaccination too. Sorry. :flower3: You said a mouthful in the bolded above.

I was following your thread because I've wondered the same thing. I know that where she works, if you are symptomatic you can't have the vaccine, but I don't know if that's because they anticipate those with exposure will have antibodies, or what. I'll let you know what I learn.

@leebee , I hope your daughter heals quickly and that those near and dear to her (especially you and your DH) do not end up with this disease. I'm so sorry you had to cancel your trip and that your DD just missed getting the vaccine. The very best of wishes to all of you. Please keep us posted.

Mixed news... DH tested negative for Covid, so HOORAY!! My results were "inconclusive" (didn't know that was possible) and since I am having symptoms- which I really believe are my usual sinus issues- I have been scheduled for PCR testing. I have contacted the DVC owner from whom we rented the points and told her to cancel our reservation at SSR. Even if I were to definitely be shown to be negative, I can't imagine leaving the state at this point. DD is sick enough to be miserable. I do not think she will become desperately ill, but She Is Sick.. and we all know how unpredictable this virus is. Although I'm sad about it, I am mostly greatly relieved that we aren't going to go to FL just to "get our money's worth" and will stay home, so if DD needs anything, we're here. Sigh. Mostly I am bummed about missing my get-together with old friends and family members. Disney will always be there, and we'll always go back, but this was an alignment of special people in one place that probably won't happen again. Oh well. There are bigger issues in the world.
