Another lovely day in Oklahoma. . .

Tuesday night Aaron came home with an early V-day gift. He was concerned that if he had gotten them actually on V-day then the quality and quantity available wouldn't have been as good lol

They've opened up a bit more since this picture. I've mentioned it somewhere on the DIS before but my husband rarely gets pre-made bouquets instead he picks the flowers individually usually. He's very picky about flowers haha.

For some reason I can't see your pic but I can imagine it's very beautiful!

I guess then I won’t bother figuring out how to post a picture. :rotfl:You can just close your eyes and imagine the day-after discount roses I got at WalMart yesterday for 8 bucks a dozen! Between busy work deadlines and focusing on Ash Wednesday, Valentines Day kinda fell by the wayside for us this year.

Happy Family Day dear ALDIO brothers and sisters! It's a fake holiday invented 25 years ago in Alberta and is now a stat in all provinces, I think. Since Christmas was forever ago and Easter is often still 2 months away, a day off at this time of year is much needed! And since there's absolutely no cultural or religious significance to the day, there's no pressure or work involved in celebrating! I think it should actually be called National Nap Day because that's what you'll find me doing! :wave2:

Enjoy your nap! President's Day here, which I didn't think was much of a thing in this neck of the woods. Turns out the school's are closed, DD & her family are all off today, but DW is working (but maybe not too hard if her clients aren't working today.) Family day sounds like a good idea...provided you get along with your family! ;)

Valentine's Day has never been this over the top type thing for my husband and I. We rarely go out to eat and don't go crazy, normally, with gifts (there was one year though years ago that I got a giant bear lol).

Chocolate usually, flowers and a card is usually what I get. And I'm totally ok with that. We had chicken and pesto sandwiches we made ourselves for example this year.

I usually get flowers 1 to 2 times per year (wedding anniversary {and before we got married it was our dating anniversary} and v-day) sometimes my b-day as well just depends.

So today is the day for all 4 seasons perse to make their appearance.

Brief thunderstorms (oh how I've missed thunderstorms) turned into freezing rain then back to just rain and now it is lightly snowing with also freezing rain--it feels like 13 degrees out :cold: though it's about 30 degrees in actual temp and we're under an ice storm warning til the evening.

Yesterday started out warm (50/60s which is above average temps) then dropped to 30s by late afternoon/early evening. My husband talked about how he didn't bring a warmer jacket to work since it was so nice when he left for work--I had to say "hello you know you gotta dress in layers or bring layers it's midwest"

As a horse owner, that is the kind of weather I dread, and we've had too much of it lately for my taste. It either needs to stay cold or mild and stick with that choice, and cold rain and ice can stay away. But glad you are enjoying the thunderstorms. We're supposed to have some this week. I'd rather you take them! Ha!

Here we 'SNOW' again!

Tonight into tomorrow expecting 20-30cm... -------[
The news just spoke about this last night. They are saying we are in a snow drought lol for our area. It's the first time in our history I believe where we've had less than 10inches 3 years in a row. Including this year the previous two years have been 6inches or under. They had projected before the winter season had started that we were supposed to get our normal just over 18 inches...officially at least at the airport (where they typically do the historical measurements) it was something like 5.9inches I think. It's doubtful though not completely unheard of for our snow/ice season to be done with now that we are entering March. I opened some of the windows yesterday because it was so nice though it was dreary out. And hey it's sunny out today. In Feb. we had 1 day..seriously 1 day of complete sun meaning no clouds came out.

Ha! Amateurs! We've had 6 separate storms this winter where we've had over 10" at a time. :upsidedow

lol yeah normally it's around 18 or so inches per season.

We did have a few seasons where we've had over 10 inches at a time but it sure hasn't been consistent lately.

Most times it's an inch or two at a time--measely I'm sure by comparison to your area :P. And if it's sunny enough that little snow will be gone in a few hours lol.

This is the most deceptive time of year here. You think it's warming up and things will only get better...then the temp drops 40 degrees, or the wind will gust at 40 MPH. We are nature's peons, which is why we always get peed on. :rolleyes1
