Another lovely day in Oklahoma. . .

Just caught the news about the Eastern Seaboard, the flood developments and, subsequent warnings there. We have been fortunate.

Yeah, it's not pretty. - Extremely wet and windy here (MA). I just got back a few minutes ago from picking up my "permit-holding" DS at school (meaning driving to get him, and then him driving us home). He was a trooper! - Dealt with two traffic lights out, one road closure, and a small branch falling only about 20 feet in front of him. Great experience (considering he's close to taking his test - I wouldn't have let him if he was just starting out!!) But yikes, it was yucky out there! We're glad to be in for the night.

Glad you guys made it home ok though!

Thanks. The logical part of me says it's good for him to run into these things while one of us is still there giving instructions (instead of all by himself too soon after he gets his license!) - but there's always that part of you that sees them as little kids.

He really did impress me, though.

You'll feel much better when he can start running errands for you--i.e, You're cooking dinner and realize you have run out of butter. DS can go pick that up for you, and if he sees anything in the bakery department that would be good for dessert....he can go ahead and pick that up too.;) Sound good???:)

Being without electricity is the worst, but being without cable/internet is a close second. AlDIOIANS are all thinking about you guys.:grouphug:

Glad to hear your power is back on :flower1: and that you guys were ok. Hopefully your cable and internet get back on soon enough *fingers crossed*

All good now. :goodvibes Thanks, everyone, for the well-wishes!

:rockband:La la la la la "It is the winter that never ends, it just goes on and on my friends..."

Another 15" between Thursday and Saturday. DS's car looked really similar to this after the plows went by yesterday. It took him 1/2 an hour to shovel it out enough to drive off to work this morning.

:shamrock: Yay St.Patrick's Day! I was at the grocery yesterday and I had a corned beef brisket in my hand but I just couldn't pull the trigger. I'm the only one who would eat it and if I tried to make it with cabbage it'd probably stink up the house (cooking cabbage does that, right?) And oh the Reubens I could make, but again
it'd be me eating it all. I did find a 12 pack sampler of Guinness which I knew also would be all mine, because I showed so much restraint on the corned beef, I found it perfectly acceptable to pull the trigger on those. I then pulled the bottle opener on them.:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1 I might have to go back for another sampler pack. :teeth:

Anyone else doing anything fun over the weekend?

My DH would have joined you for that sampler pack of Guinness. The darker and stronger the beer, the better, in his opinion.

Have fun celebrating!

Micca:. Maybe, you remember my dh wanting to buy an electric car. We decided that because we are seniors and, do not drive as often as we use to, not to go electric. However, our eldest son did. He picked his Bolt up this week and, we are going to see it then, go for a ride with him this week end. My dh is so excited!

Yummm.....Guinness it's one of my go-to's. I like the Black Lager version as well.

Funny but we made plans with Aaron's dad and his g/f and her son for tomorrow a couple weeks ago not actually realizing what tomorrow was going to be but guess we're having pizza..either for dinner or lunch on St. Patrick's Day. Kinda wish I was going to the parade instead though lol.

Gotta love the Bolt--it's named after a Disney movie!:earboy2: Enjoy the ride!

There are 3 bottles each of 4 styles of Guinness--two of them aren't commonly available in the U.S. and they are ALL delicious!:drinking1 I had never noticed this package before, it might be a limited run for St.Patrick's day.
