Another lovely day in Oklahoma. . .

My entire day has been spent sitting at the Drs or the chemist.

My youngest son has a perforated eardrum and neglected to tell me. It's weeping and smells. He has some kickbutt antibiotics so should be good to go in a few days. But will stay home from school, isn't allowed swimming, needs to be careful in the shower yada yada..

I'm cross he didn't say something to me.

Given I was kept waiting for almost 2 hours (only 4 people in front of us!!) I also got them to redo his asthma management plan. No way was I wanting to make another appointment to do that and wait in the virus infected waiting room.

And, a rant if I may. People need to sit on their own chairs. Not have their butt spreading over onto my chair, my legs, taking up my area of my chair. And I also don't want hairy armpits getting waved in front of my face because the guy siting next to me is so close I can see his individual nostril hairs and wants to take up two chairs PLUS spread his legs out. Seriously. Need. A. Drink.

Ouch that sound nasty sorry to hear about your son. Plus waiting room not exactly being like the Conceirge lounge on DCL.. hope he gets well soon.

jevs - sounds like a perfectly lovely time:crazy2::crazy2: Hope your youngest heals up fast. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Good news on our cat, she's doing much better! Her lab work all came back fine and she's getting back to being her old self. :cat:

SO glad to hear it!!
That would scare the crap out of me too! The upside for her is that she's old enough to know how to work it for maximum effect--"I'm starting to feel a little uncomfortable, could someone get me some ice cream?" ;) Will she miss 3 weeks of school? That seems like a lot this late in the school year but I'm sure they'll work with her. I hope she's feeling ok and a certain grandmother will bestow some Disney toys/games to keep her occupied. :)

Oh she has got that down pat already:rotfl2::rotfl2: This DGD is the one who is home schooled so poor dear won't miss any school.:laughing: But I am betting she will try anyway. At least her parents didn't freakout, I thought they would being 1st real injury but Keep Calm and Parent. :thumbsup2

I remember bluffing my way out of school as a kid but that's gotta be tough when you're home schooled. "I'm a little sore, not sure I can make it to the living room.";)

Yeah and she can't use the "I was sick this morning but feel better in the afternoon" either

OKAY - GO UCONN!!!!

An example of Fastpass/express pass/flash pass/quick queue gone wrong...

So we decided to make a little jaunt this weekend and go see a local reenactment (by local I mean 2 hours away). We planned to go Saturday and see all stuff, booked a room that night and then come home today. The reenactment was an all day thing with various battles and demonstrations and people in period costume doing demonstrations. Saturday night for an extra charge there was a candlelight tour of the premises. Having never been to this event, we should up and bought tickets for everything. Chose the latest slot for candlelight tour so it would be good and dark. The had separate "corrals" for each of the time slots. We arrived around 7:30 to enjoy the outdoor scenery and noticed people in all lines as well as well dressed people with name tags going in a different entrance. We figured it was a reception for the workers in the museum area. It got to be 8:22 and our tour was to start at 8:30. We saw TONS of people everywhere and some had different color tickets than ours corresponding to earlier times. A group of say 6 40-50 year old people (not workers) approached us and said they heard it was running an hour and 45 minutes behind. They weren't staying, tour tickets were only $2 each anyway. We approached a worker who first hemmed and hawed and said they weren't running "that" far behind. We still weren't happy and this worker was just the messenger so they went to get the boss.....who came out and told us that the club/group that donates the money for this reenactment just get to go ahead of ticket purchasers. ACTUALLY TOLD US THAT. I argued that was saying one group of people (and their money) was more important than another group and bad business. He argued it was not at he puts these on all over the state. Whatever, we left.

Oh, so his cluelessness isn't just local, it's statewide! ;) Sheesh. Makes you appreciate how good WDW is at this (usually)

At least with theme parks and such, you know they outright purchased something or its available to everyone. i know you could argue these people probably paid more than our $2 ticket cost, but I just think it's wrong. He also tried saying the actors were being long winded. I brought up maybe doing a preview night the night before. A dress rehearsal for actors to time and a preview night for the "stockholders" have the camp cook make a meal or something. He (no joke) sneered and said they only do this ONE night.

Geez dude, just trying to help. You got over 100 angry people behind me........

Like Disney_traveler, we have highs in the 80s today. Boo hiss! Marchand63, send me your 38 degrees, please. We are also gearing up for supposed tornadoes tonight and tomorrow. Guess it's time to clean out the tornado closet.

Stay safe!

We would use the area under our bsmt stairs if the need arose. Thus far, we've only had to deal with straight line winds, and they were scary enough.

Not sure where you live, Twilight, but I'm so aware of your spring weather with storms and tornadoes with my son and his little family stationed in Oklahoma. Stay safe.
