Another lovely day in Oklahoma. . .

Update on our DGD. I knew it was not going to be good news when DW told me DD texted her at 2:53AM.:faint: DD took the 5 yr old to the pediatrician this morning and she was diagnosed with the flu. DD is having some work done at her house so they are both asleep in our guest room right now (having stayed up all night last night.) She got some meds so I think she'll be feeling better in a day or two, now we cross fingers that their whole family doesn't come down with the bug.

Ron, my flu, seriously, didn't last very long even tho the first couple of days I felt like I was run over by a mack truck!! Hope your darling grand daughter is feeling better really soon.

Hey @Micca - let me in on the running “librarian” joke. I must have missed it somewhere. :wave2:
Hmm..I don't know about a running librarian joke. Are you talking about the thread with the woman with a tipping question for her two hair stylists? Someone mentioned awe at someone having multiple stylists for hair. It was my (apparently failed) attempt at insinuating that if you think two stylists are high falutin' I can go one better by employing a librarian (whom I do not tip as much as she gave her two stylists.)

Perhaps a bit of my private "own little world" accidentally leaked out the internet for an instant.:flower1:

:scratchin Technically if you employ the librarian, the tip would actually be a bonus, which (s)he would then have the difficulty of deciding how to split with a hypothetical significant-other. That's the road to heartache right there. You're kinder not to to tip/bonus at all, IMO. :rotfl:

How's everyone's Christmas weekend going? I'm half ways done. Took the son and DIL who have no kids to a local casino for an overnight stay on Friday. Yesterday had all sons, wives, and my grand babies over for a crazy day. Realized that my house is wayyyyy too small but we'll call it cozy chaos. Tonight we all go next door to my sister's where 40 of us family members will eat, drink and hopefully be merry.

Jane, loving your snow pics. We're getting 3-4 inches later today.

Merry Christmas to all my ALDIOns!! :santa:

Merry Christmas Kitty! We had unbelievably nice weather until 4 days ago and since then we've gotten 20" of snow including another 2" overnight. Getting around town has been tough and I don't relish hitting the highway tomorrow morning. Besides that though, we're all set here.

I rushed through a bit of baking Friday night after work (just to say I did) and DH and I started and finished all our shopping yesterday. Crazy I know but we had a lot of laughs and enjoyed our time together. We were out for dinner with friends last night and then I got all the wrapping done and the living room tidy enough to be able to enjoy the tree and decor.

In a few hours we'll head off to church and then DH, DS and I will have a big brunch out somewhere and come home to open gifts. The rest of the day will be spent napping and packing as we prepare to head off in separate directions tomorrow. A different year for sure, but good, very good. :goodvibes My very best wishes to all y'all and yours ALDIO'ers!

Wow, have fun with that! The woman who cuts my hair told me she has a really big family get together to attend. I asked "How big is big?" She says "90!"
I ask her where they have that (thinking a hotel or something) she tells me her grandfather's house. He has a really big house.:earseek:

We had a big feast on Friday, sort of had a day-off yesterday, and there will be another feast tomorrow. Everything seems to be going well so far. We even got a little dusting of snow overnight. :) Merry Christmas dear ALDIO friends.:santa:

It's officially Christmas here in Maine... 12:25am on 12/25! Merry Christmas, everyone!

It's just my husband and I for the holiday; DD24 is celebrating with her boyfriend at their house. It's hard to have her "away," especially for the holiday, but we'll see them later this week for a couple of days when we go to my family's "Cousins' Christmas." That's always fun, about 25 of us in hotel rooms for 2 nights, eating, drinking, talking, laughing, hugging. I can't wait, and we (DH and I, DD and her boyfriend) will stay an extra night just to hang out together. Tomorrow- actually TODAY- DH and I are having a quiet Christmas at home. We'll have bacon and eggs for breakfast, graze through the day (nachos, leftover corn chowder, leftover ham, clam dip) and head to our friends' home around 5pm for Christmas Dinner. This is the plan, although we are supposed to have a bucket load of snow tomorrow; Bangor is smack-dab on the line between the 5"-10" and 8"-12" snow bands. We are going to try to keep up with the shoveling so we can go to our friends' and have a wonderful Christmas celebration!
