Wait...you're in New Orleans and ordered Chinese takeout??? You did not:sad2: OK, I'll amend my comment about restaurants to "not a bad Cajun food place in the city." My apologies for misleading you like that :)

Enjoy the city, I've been there twice but only for 2-3 days at a time. Have fun!:sunny:

I've been to New Orleans twice; once for our Senior trip and then again in '05 for our cruise. I think I already mentioned somewhere that our ship the Sensation was the one they sailed back in 4 months later to house Katrina victims.

Yeah, it was that or pizza. We got to the hotel at 9pm and nothing was open near the hotel.

Rare, Limited Edition WORD OF THE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday DW and I took the DGDs (4 & 5) to meet Santa. The youngest went right up to Santa and told him exactly what she wanted most (an Ipad) while the 5 yr old cowered in fear, her face buried in DWs leg. She was so afraid to talk to Santa that she would only tell DW what she wanted for Christmas, and DW would in-turn relay the info to Santa. We captured the occasion with a photo of the 4 yr old with a big grin on her face, and the 5 yr. old barely visible behind DW.
This has inspired me to coin a term for this irrational fear of Jolly Ol St. Nick...

Santa Claustrophobia: The fear of sitting on the lap of a jolly elf and reciting a laundry list of wanted Christmas gifts. :santa:

One of our sons was not a fan of sitting on Santa's lap.....he just wanted to skip to Christmas morning with all Santa's loot!! :rotfl:

I'm never surprised by kids reactions to santa as we constantly tell kids not to talk to strangers then encourage them to sit on some dudes lap lol.

Well let's face it, there's a lot of buildup to meeting Santa and the Disney characters at WDW. I remember as a kid going to a department store to meet Santa. We stood in a long line for a couple of minutes, they we rounded the corner to where Santa was visible and I decided it was time to split. At least I didn't make my parents wait in line then freakout at the last moment.

It was pretty much the same scenario at WDW last June. We made it to several events where the little one had a good time and the older DGD just couldn't handle it. Actually they both did well with the princesses, it was the large fur characters that scared my oldest DGD. We're taking them back next spring, we plan to avoid the meet n greets.

One of the cool things about the Santa meet over the weekend--Santa is a friend of ours. When it was our turn in line DW said to Santa "Do you remember us Santa?" Santa then called me & DW by our first names which was pretty impressive. :santa:

Jevs, if you're still in NOLA, try Mother's for a shrimp po'boy. Naturally, beignets at Cafe Du Monde are a requirement.
