Another lovely day in Oklahoma. . .

For the first time in ages I am home alone:dancer::dancer:. No DH, he's playing hockey.:jumping1: No kids they are at a friends weddingparty:. The DGD's are at their other grandparents:dance3:

So I bought me some Mai Tai mix, we have Netflix & Amazon on the big screen. What to watch, what to watch, that is the question? :drinking1

That's going to be my day tomorrow. DH is going on an all day fishing trip with his buddies. I will spend the day getting the house ready for Thanksgiving. :dancer::drinking1:dancer:

I really hate computers sometimes! About 2 years ago my trusty dell laptop just wouldn't boot up. It has the pictures from my parents first Disney trip in 2014. I just kept not thinking to take it to a fixer upper to at least get the pictures saved. I bought a new HP laptop to use for storing pictures and such. Well today went to get that baby going to sync phone and put new movies on the iPad and it was dead and little light where you charge wouldn't even come on. Ran to Best Buy (45 minutes 1 way) and purchased a new cord, no luck. So tomorrow both laptops are going to fixer upper. Here's hoping that can fix the new one and at least recover pictures from the old one.

Everybody doin' ok? I'm sure everyone is busy with family stuff coming up (at least our U.S. based ALDIO-ians.) All is well at Chez Micca! Our 7.5 Christmas tree is just a beast--it's heavy and unwieldy. DW and I struggle with setting it up every year, and because I have dry skin on my hands and arms there is usually bloodshed. Because I'm restricted on lifting for a few weeks since the cataract surgery our wonderful son-in-law came by yesterday and assembled the tree by himself in about 10 minutes. That reduced our decorating time by about an hour, and we saved about $15 in swear jar money by DW and I not doing it. We'll decorate it with a little help from DGDs over the weekend. :santa:

Hello @Micca ! I'm jealous of your huge tree! Glad you had help setting it up! I vote you recruit him to set it up every year!

Laptops went to dr today and just diagnostics are $95/each upfront but the guys said they CAN fix it.....

Kiddos had contest today and 6 teams qualified for the state events.

Only one day of class tomorrow and then much needed time with family and FOOD!

Have some kind of weird cough thing going on. Feels like I've got part of a loofah stuck in the back of my throat. If I don't take regular sips of water I start gagging. Starting on sore throat/cough medicine and drops in an hour.

No kidding, AND break down too! Hey, don't get sick, there's too much fun coming up. Sore throats are the worst, hope you can knock it out. I usually take antihistamines when I feel a sore throat coming on. Good to hear about the laptops being repairable, always good to hold off on buying computers when you can. Congrats on the kids events!

Don't all holidays need a little bloodshed. We just pulled every thing from the attic I dread putting it all up heck maybe I'll throw in the trash

Well now that I think about it, my cat has this silvery cellophane like ball cat toy that I haven't seen in a while. Sometimes I sleep with my mouth open......maybe that's what the problem is....

Our fun has started! We are in the mountains this week. Arrived late, late, late last night, and wow, was it cold! Woke up early this morning to book FPs for our upcoming trip. Belated bday celebrating for our daughter is on the agenda for the rest of the day. Then it's time to think about Thanksgiving. A friend is coming out to join us at the cabin tomorrow for the feast (having it a day early), and we are going hiking on TH to help offset the major amounts of food that will be devoured this week.

Hope everyone stays well - sore throats go away, eyeballs stay intact, etc. - and has a great week!

Shout-out to jevs, knowing she's super-busy getting ready for her epic journey. And since it's possible she won't survive the hideous ordeal of her luxury cruise, I just wanted to tell her how much she's meant to us all - in case we don't get another chance! :love1:

All seriousness jevsie - jealous as many of us are, we hope you have an amazing time. Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We're all looking forward to being regaled by your trip report when you return! :wave2:

Sorry guys, I was suppose to spend today cuddling my pets, wasting time on DIS, and doing other stuff because I'd planned to have today FREE. That didn't happen and I'm still madly trying to get organised, although on the home straight *phew*. I had an allergic reaction to something I've been exposed to which took care of Monday, by the time I sat at the GP, then went to the chemist to get some kick **** steroids I was too exhaustipated (and not feeling the best) to finish packing, cleaning the house, packing, organising the kids, packing etc. Tuesday I finished packing. Then this morning I decided to repack and took a shedload of stuff out of the bags lol. Then I noticed one of my tyres looked like a racing slick *sigh* thankfully the tyre place could fit me in and I told them they may as well change all 4 while we were there, so that took care of this afternoon.

The kids are all snoozing and I'll join them shortly, just a few more things to do. Sent the dog and kitties off to the cattery/kennels - I think we'll lose our old boy (the black cat I posted for Halloween) which will break my heart. He's not doing so well and it killed me to say goodbye to him - he's been with me for 18 years They'll do their best to keep him ticking along until we get back and I gave them a LONG list of instructions lol.

Try and behave you lot. I'll pop in and out with words of wisdom from our travels and a load of misery from that boat thing I was bullied into booking :D

Good grief Jo, can anything else happen before your trip??? Maybe you could have the plumbing for your entire house replaced, or an organ transplant?;)

You are smart to down-size the luggage. It's taken us years to figure it out, but we now travel with less than what we think we'll need, and it's still sufficient.
Smart move on the tires too, now you have that issue out of the way for a long time.

I'm sorry to hear about your cat. We've had some animals that hit the 18 year mark and I know it's hard when they aren't faring so well. I'm sure your pets are in good hands, and the care-takers will follow your instructions implicitly.

I think you're going to love the cruise, I fear we'll lose you to Cruise Critic when you return ;) Do plan to wash your hands more than you ever have before. Bon Voyage! Bon Jovi, Bon Scott, and Bon...James Bon:boat:

Yeah I get the luggage thing. I am getting better, I no longer need a separate case for just shoes:rotfl2::rotfl2: Although I still get space in DH;s case. I usually pack & unpack at least twice to cull the wardrobe. I can't imagine packing for your epic trip:thumbsup2

I hope black cat waits til you get back. We have our own black cat & would be heartbroken if we didn't get a final farewell:grouphug:

Have a blast!!!!:dance3::dance3:

Enjoy your cruise. I usually pack another flat bag for souveniers. A friend of mine has two suitcases that nest so she packs them nested and then has an extra suitcase for purchases. I'm not sure how she pulls it off without making it too heavy. She's a hardcore shopper.

It's Christmas tree decorating day for us. We had two casualties: A Mickey Mouse that was part of a set of the Fab 5 hit the tile resulting in the loss of both ears and a shoe. He was rushed to the kitchen where he's awaiting determination of whether he can be super glued back to full capacity. The other was a Disney dated ornament from 1990. Disney used to produce some very basic ornaments back then--basically white ceramic globes with a sort of tape with artwork wrapped around it. The actual shell had cracked last year but the tape held it together. This morning when I picked it up it basically disintegrated in my hand.

DW has all the Christmas stuff very well organized but we have the mystery of the hooks. We bought a package of those little wire hangers for ornaments at an after Christmas sale last year. We had already packed out decorations away, so the hooks are lurking in a drawer somewhere in the house. DW & I both think we've seen them fairly recently, but no idea where. We'll find the ones from last year as soon as we buy another package this year ;)

We spent the afternoon in the basement, going through stuff, sorting, tearing down old boxes. The good thing is we can really see progress.
Nice evening, lots of watching football and relaxing. On the Disney front, I was amazed Disney released the dates for Epcot Food and Wine 2017. It will be August 31, 2017 through November 13, 2017. It's great that it will be longer next year, more people will be able to enjoy it.:daisy:

Hope all the friends at ALDIO have a great weekend!:goodvibes
