Tamron 18-250mm F/3.5-6.3 AF Di-II LD Aspherical (IF) Macro Lens

Tamron 28-200mm F/3.8-5.6 XR For SONY Alpha Digital SLR Cameras

Sigma 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 DG Macro Auto Focus Wide Angle Telephoto Macro Zoom Lens

Between these 3 lens which one would you consider?
All of these would be for a Sony A100.

Are you looking for quality or convenience?
What do you mostly shoot (portraits, action, landscape)?
What other lenses do you already own?

I have no idea as none of those lenses fit with my shooting style. Have you checked dpreview for what they have to say about them?

I have a question too.. How do you know how good the quality of the lens will be?
I ahve 2 tamron lens, that I got pretty cheap off ebay, (AF 75-300mm tele-macro and a aspherical 28-80mm), They work nicely, but are not high quality lens. The pictures aren't as sharp as I would like, but I can't afford any really good ones right now. So How do you know just by looking at a lens online, or where ever , how good it actually is till you can try it out?

have you verified that it is indeed the lenses.., sometimes pics aren't sharp because of the slightest of camera movement while taking pics... that will occur more frequently on longer focal lengths such as the 300mm

1) You can read user reviews.
2) You can look at sample shots.
3) You can learn how to read MTF charts.

The problem is that "good" is subjective. What is good enough for you may or not be good enough for someone else.

Definately the lenses. I do have a better lens as well. They aren't bad lenses, but just not as great as what I would someday like to own.

Here is a great site on the web for Minolta/Sony cameras, lenses, etc.

http://www.dyxum.com/lenses/index.asp

They have excellent reviews and other information. They are a great resource for all things Minolta/Sony mount.

I have a "convenience" zoom like those that I almost never use. It has gotten to the point where I prefer to carry 2-3 other lenses and switch. If I had to pick one of those, I think it would be 18-200 because of the wider angle. I find myself using the wide angle as much or more than the telephoto end.
