We are not on the dining plan. My DD12 and DS15 are not big eaters. I have ADRs at Cal Grill, Le Cellier, Coral Reef, Concourse, and Citricos. We have looked at the menus posted on AllEars. They are both going to prefer the kids menu most of the time - Is this going to be a problem?

TIA

No, I predict no problem at all. I am a believer in sharing meals or ordering a kids meal. I have never been denied upon requesting this and have never read on the Dis that anyone has. If anyone ever has please feel free to share.

I will be doing a mother/daughter trip in October and will be requesting a kids menu at every table service restaurant. Hope that helps. Have a great Disney day! :wave2:

As long as it's not a buffet or all-you-can-eat meal, you should have no problems ordering off the kids' menu. :sunny:

I agree with Diana: you will have no problem. Here's a funny story for you (I'll make it quick).

One year at CRT, my sister, who was about 13 or 14 then wanted the kids' chicken tenders meal, and my younger brother was 8 or 9 and wanted the adult's prime rib. My sister was embarrassed to order off the kids' menu, so she ordered the prime rib, brother ordered the chicken, and when the food came, they switched plates. The server thought this was amusing, and in a funny way said to my sister, "Cinderella likes the chicken tenders, too, and has the chef make them for her all the time."

Sis is now 23, and she still orders kiddie meals when she feels like it. Aren't there days when a simple grilled cheese sounds really good? :goodvibes

I only encountered one place that seemed to not want to let my 11yo order off the kids' menu....and that was The Plaza. We got around it by ordering a kids' meal for our 21mo, which we don't usually do. We ended up playing musical plates....LOL.

I do expect that any restaurant that won't allow your older kids to order a kids meal will at least offer adult portions of the kids items at a higher cost. They offered us this option at Akershus for my 11yo for whom we were paying adult prices, though he did choose an adult item.
You could ask for that and just order one meal for them to share if they're very light eaters. So far I have not seen any Disney restaurant charge a sharing fee and they seem to be very accomodating about sharing.

As long as you're not asking for more food than you're paying for I really don't see why they'd insist anyone order off the adult menu, but then again, most kids' menus say "for our guests age 9 and under". Its not like most of the kids' meals are a bargain or anything.

Great news thanks all. If anyone has had a different experience let me know.

Tinker*Shell*Bell, my mom got her the dress over the holidays....we had stopped at Walmart for diapers and when Alethia saw the dress she started stripping off her clothes so she could wear it. Grandmom just couldn't resist that!

Sorry for the OT- I would have pm'd but I thought the story was so cute I'd share it with everyone!

Anyway, Thanks!
