Another HOW does RCI affect us DVC folks question????

Okay so could someone explain how RCI peeps request their time at DISNEY?? Is it easy for them to get weeks at the resorts?? Will it make it harder for us to get a certain week? I think if I understand this....they trade in...so one of us DVC peeps has to trade out into RCI for that week to be available for them to get a trade in? DO I have this right or wrong??? Anyone want to give me a quick crash course??
