I think I remember seeing someone post a picture of a suite at HOJO; does anyone have any info on their suites??

I'm trying to find something that's 2 bedrooms with a living room area, too. (I've checked out every hotel that has been rec'd on these boards; haha.) I was just curious what the suites at HOJOs mean; I haven't seen anyone talk about anything other than a basic room there.

TIA!

idk but the suiets are some times hard to get from what i heard. I would book two conecting rooms 59-74 a night/a room if ent rate avalibule

Here's a link to a PDF on the HOJO room layouts:

Here's another link:

Both links should give you an idea of the rooms' layout and amenities. HTH!

You know, these layout diagrams are handy to sort of get an idea of what the rooms look like; wouldn't it be great it they could come up with some kind of technology that would allow them to make the same layout (like looking down from above), that also looked like the real room? Like they had lifted off the roof to take the picture from over head?

One of these days it's going to happen, I just know it!!:lmao:

I totally agree! We've been staying at the HOJO since early 2004 and we used to be able to book the suites a few weeks before going. My kids thought of the King Suite as their "home away from home." Now it's always booked, which is unfortunate for us but GREAT for the hotel. I'm absolutely thrilled at the idea of the kid suites they're proposing! Way to go, HOJO!

In which building are the suites? Also, which building houses the disney-view premium rooms?

The Disney view rooms are all in Bldg. 1.

The Queen suite is in bldg. 2 and the King suite is in bldg. 1.

HTH!

Thanks for the great info! The lay-out isn't what we're looking for though, unfortunately.

Back to the drawing board...

As much as I've lived on these boards lately, I had yet to see that site!

Thanks so much!! I've checked out every hotel that has come up on here; we've been leaning towards the Desert Inn and Suites, but I just realized I had missed the Portofino. I haven't heard much either way about that one though.

I'd pick Desert Inn over Portofino. You can't beat the short walk across the street to the parks!

Have you considered getting connecting rooms at the HoJo? If you can get the ent. rate, it might save you some money.

We've done the connecting rooms before, but it doesn't help our problem. Haha.

DH and I are doing our best to take my parents for the first time next April; it's been a rough year for our family, and they've always done so much for us as a couple.

But, DF has a horrible snoring problem; he's had procedures and tried everything a doctor will rec; it just doesn't help. So, that's why we need 2 bedrooms with a living room. My parents are used to having to go back and forth between the living room pull-out and the actual bedroom. One night, my mom will do the sofa and the next night my dad while the other sleeps in the bedroom. It stinks, but they've been married 20+ years and have adapted.

DH and I stay in one bedroom, and the parents rotate however they please between the other bedroom and the living room.

So, to make sure everyone gets rest, we need that lay-out. It's how we always have to travel as a family now. Just trying to make sure I check out all of our options since we've never been!

I've checked out the hotels that offer the one bedroom/living room suites, too. But, by the time we'd book one of those and a single room for DH and myself, we're WAY over our budget.

I'd love to do the suite at HOJO and get a single room, but it looks like those suites book up very quickly. I'm sure they're long-gone for next April - when we're planning on going.

Heather, coming from a family with a snoring dh and fil, I completely understand your dilemma. I'd stick with the desert inn & suites if they have the type of room you need available.

Oooh, I just thought of another option. . . what about the Residence Inn, Maingate? They have excellent reviews, free hot breakfast and they will even do your grocery shopping for you. Their family suites would probably work with your problem.

That's actually where we typically stay when we travel.

But, the 2-bedroom suite at the locale is double a 2-bedroom and Desert Inn and Portofino. I was really shocked at the price difference.

(Looked at Homewood, too. They're not double the price, but still a bit more. Trying to work with a budget can be tres difficult.)

Have you tried the Residence Inn Anaheim Resort Area in Garden Grove. It's on Harbor right next to the Homewood. We just got a great rate for the Kids Suite...almost $100/night less than the RI maingate. From what I understand it's also the first ART stop on it's route.

I think so, but I've looked at so many by now they all start to run together! :rotfl2:

*Goes to explore!*
