Wow, where do I start?? We just got home this afternoon, after checking out this AM.
Dh & I agree that we will never stay anywhere else on Disney property. We've done 2 of the deluxe resorts previously, and found both the cast members and the guests at POFQ to be among the nicest, most helpful, and friendliest. We had one issue at the food court one day - the cm taking my order could not speak English very well & spoke very softly. Then, she got mad at ME for asking her to repeat almost everything! No big deal - if it had been, I would have taken it up with an appropriate higher-up, which I didn't.
The pool was great - the kids loved it! The poolside bar was awesome. Yesterday, a typical FL storm moved in during the afternoon. I was at the bar (same building) doing laundry when the lifeguards pulled everyone out. The lifeguards sat on the floor at the bar playing board games with the kids, and gave out prizes to the winners.
One of the prizes was a little plastic mardi gras themed plastic clapper. I asked if I could buy some from them, or where I could get them. They gave me a whole bag (12 or so) at no charge!
We stayed in room 2130. What a great room! It was right across the sidewalk from the entrance to the boat dock and a smoking area, which we requested, since we are both smokers. We always went outside to smoke and are sticklers for following the rules. We were almost always outside smoking around 11PM for the last run of the boats each evening, and the cm's driving the boats gave us big waves as they pulled out.
Our only wish was that the beds were bigger. Doubles just don't work for us, as we both like to spread out when we sleep.
My only regret is that we never had the time to go to Riverside. We really wanted to, but time just ran out.
I became good friends with another resort guest. We're both from the same state, her kids are my kids' ages, we have so much in common. We just "clicked" as friends, you know? We exchanged email addresses, and plan to keep in touch.
I know there are other threads about POFQ, but wanted to add my 2 cents about what a wonderful experience it was staying there!
