My DD 7 and I were shopping at
Disney Store tonight for DD5 upcoming b-day and it was very busy there. A discount cpn weekend and many people crowded into small store. As we were waiting in line to pay (line was long and slow), a woman behind me was talking to her daughter about the purchases they were making. Then a second woman comes in behind me to form another line. I didn't realize this at the time, or I would have told her the line was in another direction. My DD was talking to me at the time.
All of a sudden I hear "I am next after her...not you!" I looked and the woman behind me (who also had a young daughter with her) was telling original woman to the side of me. The original says "No, I was here first". Anyway argument starts to ensue, original gives up and says "nevermind I am not going to argue".
I turned around and told original woman, "Please go in front of us" The woman politely declined but thanked me. My DD looked at me and said quite loudly "mommy why was that other woman so mean and rude?"
It is funny, sometimes you just don't know how to answer them. I don't know why people have little to no patience anymore. I work in retail too and see it everyday...people want service and they want it now, no matter what. I mean OMG we were in the DISNEY store. Calm down. Not to mention what an example the woman was setting for her own daughter. Just found it sad.
