It is really nice to have the cart to go to the pool, campfire program, marina, trading posts, Trail's End Buffet, and anyplace else you'll want to go! You can park the cart at any of those places.
The "main" pool in the Meadows Recreation Area is best for kids, IMHO, because there is other stuff to do there too. But, the quiet pool is less crowded.
